Arshdeep Singh has once again grabbed headlines for his new social media activity. The Punjab Kings (PBKS) fast bowler surprised fans after he deleted or archived more than 200 Instagram posts from his official account on Monday (May 25).
Arshdeep Singh has been in the midst of endless controversies during the recent IPL 2026. The pacer from Punjab has been accused of racism, fight with captain Shreyas Iyer, body shaming own teammates and now his social media activity has caused a storm.
Arshdeep Singh's IPL 2026 controversies
One of the biggest controversies that involved Arshdeep came when a clip featuring him and Mumbai Indians batter Tilak Varma went viral online. In the video, Arshdeep allegedly referred to Tilak as ‘Andhera’ while joking about sunscreen and skin tone.
Another controversy followed soon after when a video involving PBKS youngster Priyansh Arya surfaced online. In the viral clip, Arshdeep and teammate Harpreet Brar were seen teasing Priyansh over his smile and teeth.
Arshdeep also faced backlash for a sharp response to a fan on Snapchat after Punjab Kings’ defeat to Mumbai Indians earlier in the tournament.

These incidents created significant negative attention around the Indian pacer during the IPL season.
Arshdeep Singh removes over 200 Instagram posts
In a major development, Arshdeep Singh has recently removed or archived nearly 200 Instagram posts. His profile, which earlier featured several memorable moments from his cricket journey, now shows only 44 posts.
Among the deleted posts was also a viral reel featuring Virat Kohli from India’s Champions Trophy 2025 celebrations. The sudden social media activity quickly became a talking point online.
It is important to mention that Arshdeep has not removed several posts related to Punjab Kings. Several family pictures, cricket-related memories and brand collaboration posts are still visible on his account.
Arshdeep Singh's poor IPL 2026 campaign
Apart from the controversies, Arshdeep also had a mixed IPL 2026 season. Although he finished as Punjab Kings’ leading wicket-taker with 14 wickets in 14 matches, his performances lacked consistency.
The left-arm pacer struggled with control and conceded runs at an economy rate of 10.20. Punjab Kings, who were runners-up last season, narrowly missed a playoff spot despite starting the campaign strongly with six wins in their first seven matches.
When will Arshdeep Singh play next?
Arshdeep Singh will next return to action during the Afghanistan tour of India 2026. The series will begin with a one-off Test match at the Mullanpur Stadium in New Chandigarh on June 6.
After the Test, India and Afghanistan will play three ODI matches on June 14, 17 and 20 in Dharamsala, Lucknow and Chennai, respectively.
It is vital to note that Arshdeep has been included in the ODI series and is expected to lead the India's bowling unit.
Why did Arshdeep Singh delete around 200 posts? Sakshi’s Opinion
In my opinion, Arshdeep may have decided to delete or archive his Instagram posts to mentally reset and focus completely on cricket.
Over the last few weeks, he has faced constant online criticism due to his poor IPL performances and controversies.
Removing old posts could be Arshdeep's way of avoiding negativity and reducing distractions before returning to international cricket.
In my view, it can also be concluded that the the Indian pacer wants to move forward with a cleaner, more private social media presence.
