The Rajasthan Royals (RR) became the fourth team to qualify for the playoffs in the IPL 2026, after RCB, SRH and GT. The berserk Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has glued audiences to their television sets, while Riyan Parag's captaincy has been no less.
RR will now take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator on Wednesday at New Chandigarh.
As the team flew from Mumbai to Chandigarh, RR's two superstars, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Riyan Parag, found themselves in a never-before-seen scenario.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Riyan Parag get into staring war
After beating the Mumbai Indians in their final league match, RR took a flight from Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. While engaging the paparazzi, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi got into staring at his franchise captain, Riyan Parag, who made a simple comment.
When asked for a photo, Parag, being savage, denied a photographer for clicking him with the prodigy, saying, “We are not film stars, brother.”
Sooryavanshi, standing in the backdrop, gave a drop-dead stare to his RR captain.

One-man army for RR, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been the one-man army for the RR this season. The 15-year-old kid has belted legendary bowlers Jasprit Bumrah, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Sunil Narine and Kagiso Rabada like net bowlers.
Playing just his second IPL season, the southpaw has clubbed nearly 600 runs at an incredible strike rate of 232.27. Although Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel are also scoring consistent runs, Sooryavanshi has been the key difference in the RR lineup this season.
Given Sooryavanshi’s form, the SRH vs RR Eliminator clash will go down as a batting feast between two batting-heavy units.
Riyan Parag's backing flourished Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
Some credit for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's style of batting has to be given to Riyan Parag, under whom the prodigal batter is taking the long leaps. It is worth mentioning that the teenager debuted in the lucrative league under Parag’s captaincy last season.
After Sanju Samson’s trade from Rajasthan to Chennai, Parag stepped in and transitioned remarkably. Under him, the Royals had the best of the starts, winning their first four games in a row, and when things shook for a bit, he helped them sail through the storm. Thus, the team management, led by Kumar Sangakkara, has also backed Parag as a leader.
Although Parag's batting has been a concern for the one-time champions, the 24-year-old stylish batter has played a couple of good knocks for the side in the league stage.

However, Parag was the one who asked the media, ahead of the season, not to engage with the teenager, so he could enjoy his cricket.
