While Glenn Phillips has been putting his best on the field, with superhuman-like efforts, his returns with the bat for Gujarat Titans haven't been impressive at all. Hence, in the RCB vs GT clash on April 24, Glenn Phillips was replaced.

Jason Holder, is set to bring the change in place of the Kiwi ‘superman’ and will debut for the franchise for the first time in IPL 2026 in teh RCB vs GT match. Meanwhile, Glenn Phillips will sit out after averaging only 16.75 from his five outings, with dismal scores of 19, 14, 3, and 6 under his belt.

Jason Holder, meanwhile, comes with solid form. He last played the T20 World Cup 2026 representing West Indies, and the all-rounder averaged 75.25 in the tournament from his five innings while striking at a massive 174.07.

With the ball too, he was effective, picking up 10 wickets from seven innings while bowling at a reasonably economical rate of 8.87.

Holder is an absolute weapon in both departments unlike Glenn Phillips, and his late-order hitting will also be a prominent utilisation for Gujarat Titans during crunch situations or tense chasing moments as they brought in an almost like-for-like replacement for the overseas player in the RCB vs GT clash.

Gujarat Titans Not Doing So Well In IPL 2026

Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans haven't been doing well on the points table. They have won only three matches out of the six games they have played. They regained their form against Delhi Capitals on April 8 with three back-to-back wins. 

However, their recent loss against Mumbai Indians pushed them down the table again. Now, they aim for a top-four spot as they challenge Royal Challengers Bengaluru at their home ground to make a difference. 

RCB, meanwhile, stands comfortably in third position with four wins from six games, with their next encounter scheduled against the Delhi Capitals.
