After losing the last IPL 2026 match in a close-fought contest against the Delhi Capitals, the RCB team will aim to bounce back as they take on the Gujarat Titans at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. There is nothing to separate the two sides in the IPL, as they have won 3 games apiece and have had even contests.

RCB occupy the third spot in the points table, with 4 wins out of 6 games, and a win against the Titans will further strengthen their grip. The defending champions had a rare off day against Delhi, and the Rajat Patidar-led side will aim to rectify the mistakes made against them.

On the other hand, GT have blown hot and cold throughout the IPL 2026. The former IPL winners have won three and lost three, and sit in seventh position in the table. In their last match against Mumbai Indians, the franchise suffered a humiliating loss, and they’ll be hopeful of a comeback in the away fixture.

Ahead of the IPL 2026 match between RCB and GT, we take a look at the toss winner, and the changes made by the two teams.

RCB Vs GT IPL 2026 toss update

RCB won the toss and captain Rajat Patidar had no hesitation in electing to bowl first as the Chinnaswamy Stadium favours the chasing team. RCB has made one forced change, with injured Phil Salt out, and Jacob Bethell replacing him. The talented Englishman is set to open the innings alongside Virat Kohli.

The Gujarat Titans captain, Shubman Gill has also made a couple of changes to his playing XI. Jason Holder is making his GT debut, and Manav Suthar also gets a game.

RCB Vs GT: What the captains had to say

Rajat Patidar (RCB): "It's pretty obvious we want to bowl first. As we all know chasing gives sort of clarity about the wicket and the score.

[team news] There's one change. Salty got injured and Bethell comes in.

[on doing well at home] A great point that I like, we are assessing the wicket and the situation pretty well. Of course there's a lot of planning behind it.

Shubman Gill (GT): "[Does it matter batting first?] Not really. Generally, on this ground, teams have had success chasing. But it looks a good wicket.

[On the surface] Honestly, it's about assessing the conditions quickly. If you can get a good powerplay, you can build on that. Just keep mounting on the good start.

[On losing their previous game] Games like that in tournaments like this can happen. But it's about reminding us what has worked for us as a team and backing ourselves.
