While there has been a significant amount of on-field rivalry between Virat Kohli and Kagiso Rabada, the RCB star and the GT pace sensation, there is also a brotherhood linkage between the two, as the duo shared warm moments before Kohli slammed Rabada for five consecutive boundaries in the second over of RCB vs GT IPL 2026 match.
While the consecutive boundaries were more like a brutal hammering for Rabada, who was punished by Virat Kohli, a many-day-old video of Kagiso Rabada participating in a Willow Talk podcast went viral for Kohli calling him a ‘weak bowler’.
What Did Virat Kohli Say To Kagiso Rabada?
In the podcast held several days ago, Rabada was seen speaking with the host of a show via a webcam and laptop, while Rabada mentioned that Kohli was right in front of him.
As Rabada was found laughing on camera, the host asked what was happening there, to which Rabada replied, “Virat Kohli is right there. He is just dancing.”
As soon as he said that, Kohli came in to investigate what Rabada was doing, as the duo was reportedly in the same hotel room, sharing some time together over fun, casual conversations. As Kohli came in, Rabada said that he was on a podcast. Kohli asked whom he was speaking with. Rabada casually replied, below top, to which Kohli said, “Oh, Australia. Hello boys.”

After a small greeting, the host asked how Kohli finds Kagiso Rabada as a bowler. Kohli, without his headphones or any audio output device, simply replied, “I can't hear anything, so I am just gonna keep blabbering like I always do about myself.”
Then Rabada replied for Kohli, saying “He thinks I am a weak bowler,” to which Kohli just smiled at the camera and shook hands before taking off.
The Weak Bowler Comment Rings True In RCB vs GT Clash
The "weak bowler" remark now rings more prominently after Rabada was smashed for consecutive boundaries by Virat Kohli in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Gujarat Titans match.
In the second over, the very first ball was slammed by Kohli through the mid-wicket and mid-on gap. The next delivery was sent to the left of mid-off for a boundary. The third boundary went straight to backward point. The fourth ball was too punished by Kohli for a four off Rabada.
The final ball of the over saw a fuller length outside the off stump, which was crisply sent by Kohli towards cover for another boundary.
Kagiso Rabada effectively conceded 20 runs in that over, as Kohli stood at 22 runs after playing eight deliveries. This was also a record made by Virat Kohli, since it was one of his highest runs ever scored in an over in the IPL, with the highest being 30 runs against the Gujarat Lions back in 2016.
Rabada Avenges Kohli in RCB vs GT
Nevertheless, Kohli's time at the crease was not long, as Rabada avenged his punishment with Kohli's wicket in the fourth over. On the second ball of the fourth over, Rabada bowled a short ball towards the off side.
As the RCB star decided to go ahead with a full shot, he hit it high on his bat with a mistimed stroke. The ball went high up in the air, and Rashid Khan caught it safely to send Kohli back to the pavilion.
Virat Kohli's dismissal almost triggered a collapse for the defending champions, as inside 12 overs, the franchise lost six wickets, including the wickets of captain Rajat Patidar, Jitesh Sharma, Tim David, and Jacob Bethell.
