In the ongoing IPL 2026 match between the Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Virat Kohli had his heart in his mouth as he nearly injured his knee again. Notably, the 37-year-old suffered an equipment malfunction in the first innings, which caused trouble for the star batter.
For the unversed, Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to field first. RCB, batting first, got off to a good start despite losing Jacob Bethell early. Virat Kohli continued from where he left off in the last innings against KKR and had a good time in the middle, except for that injury scare.
Virat Kohli Slips While Taking a Run
Notably, on the 4th ball of the 4th over, Lockie Ferguson steamed in and bowled a brilliant short-pitched delivery to Devdutt Padikkal. The batter paid respect and softly guided it down. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, who was on the non-striker’s end, saw a single there and nearly came halfway down the track.
Virat soon realised there was no run, and as he turned to go back, he slipped. It could have been a serious moment, and the right-handed batter was lucky to escape unhurt and not do any damage to his knee, which had its share of trouble early in the season.
