Shreyas Iyer is generally known for maintaining his composure on the cricket field. However, in India’s third T20I of their all-format tour of New Zealand, the cricketer seemingly lost his cool at fast bowler Prince Yadav.

The incident occurred during the final over of the New Zealand innings at the Hnry Stadium in Wellington on Tuesday, October 27.

Shreyas Iyer gets angry at ‘slow’ Prince Yadav

Indian captain Shreyas Iyer lost his cool at fast bowler Prince Yadav in the first ball of the final over of the New Zealand innings in the third T20I of their five-match series on October 27.

With Prince bowling the last over of the innings, he bowled a full-toss to a well-set Daryl Mitchell, who hit the ball towards long-off and took off for a two. However, Bevon Jacobs had to scamper back towards the non-striker’s end.

The cricketer eventually made his ground as Prince was seemingly too slow to get back to the stumps. The moment infuriated Shreyas Iyer, who yelled at the speedster at the time.

Prince Yadav’s dismal effort also irked senior all-rounder Axar Patel on the field, as the speedster deprived Team India of a possible wicket in the last over of the high-scoring New Zealand innings.

Prince Yadav goes wicketless after Christchurch heroics

Apart from getting yelled at by skipper Shreyas Iyer, fast bowler Prince Yadav also had a rather forgettable evening with the ball on the field against New Zealand.

Mere days after delivering match-winning figures of 1-30 in Christchurch, the speedster conceded 44 runs from his four wicketless overs in the third T20I as New Zealand mounted 198-3 from their 20 overs.

Tasked to bowl inside the powerplay after the opening spells of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh, Prince started off his spell with a 10-run opening over to Finn Allen and Daryl Mitchell.

Moreover, he conceded 16 runs off his next over, and another 10 off his third before concluding his workload with 0-44.

With New Zealand posting a formidable total, India will now need a strong batting performance to clinch the five-match series. Meanwhile, Prince will be hoping to put his expensive outing behind him and bounce back in the remaining two matches of the five-match T20I series in the country.
