A funny and heartwarming moment between Rohit Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav has gone viral on social media during the semifinal of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 between India and the England. The light-hearted interaction happened at the iconic Wankhede Stadium shortly before the high-voltage clash began.
The former India captain had arrived at the stadium to watch the crucial semifinal and was seen meeting several Indian players near the sidelines. Rohit Sharma was greeting the team members and wishing them luck before the big game.
During this time, he also came across left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav, which led to a hilarious moment that quickly caught the attention of fans on social media.

As Kuldeep Yadav approached Rohit Sharma, the spinner appeared ready to greet him with a friendly hug. The star player also stepped forward as if he was about to hug Kuldeep back.
However, just when the two players were about to embrace, Rohit suddenly stopped midway after noticing something unusual on Kuldeep’s T-shirt.
Instead of completing the hug, Rohit Sharma stepped back and pointed toward a mark on Kuldeep's shirt. The former Indian skipper immediately burst into laughter after spotting the mark.

India edged past England in thrilling T20 World Cup 2026 semifinal
Talking about the match, South Africa won the toss and invited India to bat first, producing a strong batting performance.
Sanju Samson played a sensational knock of 89 runs from just 42 balls, giving India a solid start and setting the tone for a big total. Ishan Kishan contributed 39 runs, while Shivam Dube added a valuable 43. Useful cameos from Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma further boosted India’s score.
By the end of their innings, India had posted an impressive total of 253/7 in 20 overs, putting pressure on the England batting lineup.
England, however, did not back down easily. Jacob Bethell played a brilliant innings of 105 runs off 48 balls and kept England firmly in the chase. Will Jacks chipped in with 35 runs, while Jofra Archer added some late fireworks to raise England’s hopes.
Despite the strong fightback, India managed to hold their nerves in the final overs. Jasprit Bumrah delivered a brilliant spell at the death, while Hardik Pandya picked up two important wickets to slow down England's momentum.
England eventually finished at 246/7 in their 20 overs, falling just seven runs short of the target. The narrow victory ensured India’s place in the final.
It is important to mention that India will face New Zealand on March 8 in the much-awaited final of the global tournament.
