Priyansh Arya batted like a man possessed against CSK in the IPL 2026 clash at Chepauk. The Punjab Kings opener, who failed to deliver the goods vs the Gujarat Titans, roared back into form with a scintillating knock that gave nightmares to the Yellow Army on Friday.
The Super Kings batted first and, courtesy of an Ayush Mhatre fifty and a clinical finish from Shivam Dube, the team posted a tricky 209/5, which looked out of reach at the halfway mark for PBKS. However, this is when the Punjab opening batter decided to unleash beast mode as he punished CSK with some brute-hitting.
Matt Henry roars like a Lion after ending Priyansh Arya's knock
He smacked 39 runs off just 11 balls, with a strike rate of 354.55, as CSK looked clueless in front of his rampage. The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side needed a miracle man to dismiss him, and Matt Henry raised his hand as the Kiwi pacer got Priyansh Arya’s prized wicket.
Priyansh had a clear game plan: See the ball, and hit it. Henry knew the plan as he bowled a good length delivery on the stumps and provoked the Punjab batter to go for a big hit.

The entire Chepauk erupted in joy, and Matt Henry was jubilant as he roared loudly to express his emotion of getting the big fish back to the pavilion.
Priyansh Arya departs, but not before shattering IPL records
The Punjab Kings opener played just 11 balls, but it was all he needed to cement his place in IPL history. On a flat Chepauk wicket that assisted the batters, Priyansh left no stones unturned, and his quick-fire knock helped him attain several IPL milestones.
