The stage is set for a riveting PSL 2026 battle as the Lahore Qalandars will take on the Multan Sultans at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. The two sides are at a contrasting position in the points table, with Lahore at fifth (1 win, 1 loss), and Multan Sultans at second (2 wins out of 2).
The Shaheen Afridi-led Qalandars will aim to climb the ladder tonight as they aim to stop Sultan’s juggernaut, who have already won two games in a row. However, the task would be difficult, as they’ll be without Fakhar Zaman, who has been banned for two PSL matches due to ball-tampering allegations.

The clash between the two teams is set to be epic, but for that, the fans might have to wait a bit as the toss has been delayed due to relentless rain in Lahore. The weather is gloomy, and the entire square region is covered as players from both teams are in their respective dressing rooms.
According to Accuweather, the current temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius, which is pleasant for the game of cricket, but at the same time, rain has spoiled the fun as a thunderstorm is also predicted for the evening.
There is a 94% chance of rain in the evening, and the stadium doesn’t have the best drainage system, which could hamper the contest as every point is crucial in a bid to reach the playoffs.

PSL already bashed for poor drainage system in Gaddafi Stadium
Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore hosts a plethora of international matches, and the Pakistan Cricket Board spent a hefty amount of money last year to renovate the stadium during the Champions Trophy. However, despite all the upgradation, PCB failed to improve the stadium’s drainage system.
In the PSL 2026 match between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi, the start of play was delayed due to rain, as heavy rain spoiled the fun for the teams and for the fans.
During the match, the stadium infrastructure was heavily criticised, mainly due to its faulty drainage system. As heavy rain lashed Lahore, puddles formed around the ground, and the ground staff failed to clean the water as the conditions were unacceptable for a game of cricket.
Visuals showed tons of water on the ground, which in normal circumstances, should have taken 20 minutes to drain out, but the Gaddafi Stadium has a poor drainage system, and hence, the match was called off.
What happens if LQ Vs MS PSL 2026 match gets abandoned?
With the stadium not having the best of drainage systems, there is a really good chance that the entire game could be called off without a single delivery being bowled.
In such a situation, both sides will be affected, considering a win here would have consolidated their position in the points tally.
If the match is abandoned, both sides will receive a point each, and Multan Sultans will have 5 points from three matches. Qalandars are currently having 2 points from two games, and they’ll have 3 points if the match is called off. However, their position in the points table won’t change.
