In a rather ugly incident in Kashmir, a renowned cricketer got into a physical brawl with a spectator in the local league over the weekend. The accused player has represented the state in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy previously and is fighting to find his way back into the setup.
This is amidst Jammu and Kashmir's ongoing Ranji Trophy round 2 match against Vidarbha, struggling to get going at the Sher-I-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar.

The said incident happened at the Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar, where a local tournament, named Red Premier League (RPL), was being played. Following the semi-final match between Athwas India XI and Royal Goodwill CC, tempers flared high, and Jehangir Lone was seen fighting with a fan.
While the reason for the altercation is not known yet, Jehangir's team, Royal Goodwill CC, lost the match by 3 wickets and crashed out of the tournament. A video went viral, where the player, recognised as Jehangir Lone, is seen pushing and punching a fan in a white shirt and jeans.
Interestingly, Lone did not show any remorse of getting into a fight and accused the fan of abusing the player. "I won't tolerate being abused," he said.

According to the local reports, the incident is being looked into by the authorities and a disciplinary action on the player is expected soon.
Who is Jehangir Lone?
Jehangir Lone is a 33-year-old pace bowling allrounder, who hails from Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir. The 1993-born player has represented Jammu and Kashmir over a decade ago in 2015 in four Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy matches, with scores of 18, 12, 5 and 0, while picking 2/14 (3) against Punjab, dismissing Mandeep Singh and the legendary Harbhajan Singh.
Since his last appearance for the state team, he has been trying to find his way back to the camp, as he leads Sultan Warriors Baramulla in the local leagues. However, the performances have not been able to impress the selectors yet and the fight has likely pushed him further away from the JKCA state team.
