Bangladesh suffered a blow last week when ODI captain Litton Das was ruled out of the tri-series involving Zimbabwe and Afghanistan. The wicketkeeper-batter sustained a hip-joint injury, and scans were needed to determine his return to the field.

The player underwent scans on Monday, and although his return is still unclear, the Bangladesh Cricket Board medical committee shared a crucial update after the initial reports.

BCB medical team share positive news on Litton Das

In the lead-up to the ODI tri-series, Litton Das has been in some fine form, having scored a century against Afghanistan in their only Test. Immediately after being ruled out of the series, Bangladesh suffered a loss to Zimbabwe in the opening match, missing his batting as well as leadership.

However, there is some positivity around the situation. According to Cricbuzz, a member of the BCB medical committee has said that there is no major cause for concern about the batter and his rehabilitation is already underway, as they eye a quick comeback to the field.

"Yes, Litton came today to meet us. There was nothing significantly bad in his scan report, but there is a slight muscle issue," a BCB medical committee member revealed.

"We saw it [scan report] and did a light physiotherapy today. Tomorrow we will also do a light physiotherapy session, and after two days we will be able to say where he stands, as far as his injury is concerned,” he added.

Furthermore, it was also revealed that Litton could be back in time for the first Test against West Indies, starting October 28, which will be a massive boost for Najmul Hossain Shanto and the management.

Nayeem Hasan fitness test date confirmed

The 26-year-old off-spinner, Nayeem Hasan, is currently nursing a hamstring issue from the Only Test against Afghanistan. After his foot got stuck in the outfield during Taijul Islam's bowling, Hasan was forced to play the final two days of the Abu Dhabi Test with heavy strapping and ended the match without any significant problems.

Furthermore, he underwent scans, which revealed no major tear, but as a precaution, he was asked not to participate in the ongoing National Cricket League and to rest. He was warned that high-speed running or sharp breaking could risk a serious tear, so Nayeem will undergo a fitness test on Thursday, October 22, to determine his return date.

The bowling all-rounder has already started bowling in training and did not feel any discomfort on day 1 of his return to the nets on Monday. He is eyeing a return ahead of the West Indies series as well.
