In a huge concern for Pakistan, fast bowler Hasan Ali appeared to suffer a serious head injury during the second Test match against Bangladesh at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet.

Moreover, the scary moment reminded many fans of South African pacer Lungi Ngidi’s recent injury during an IPL 2026 match between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings.

Lungi Ngidi Suffered A Painful Fall

Earlier, Ngidi had suffered a painful fall after landing badly on the back of his head and neck. The incident happened while he was running backwards from mid-off to take a catch of Punjab Kings opener Priyansh Arya. However, he failed to hold onto the catch and crashed heavily onto the ground.

As a result, Ngidi immediately grabbed the back of his head in pain and could not get up. Soon after, play was stopped for several minutes as the physio and medical team rushed onto the field to help him. His neck and head were carefully stabilised with a brace before he was taken off the field on a stretcher and later moved in an ambulance for further medical checks.

Hasan Ali Suffers Scary Head Injury During Second Test

Meanwhile, during Pakistan vs Bangladesh 2nd Test, Bangladesh were asked to bat first after Pakistan captain Shan Masood won the toss. Notably, Pakistan got the perfect start as Mahmudul Hasan Joy was dismissed for a duck in the very first over by Mohammad Abbas. Therefore, Pakistan looked in control early in the innings

However, things quickly turned worrying in the eighth over of Bangladesh’s first innings after Hasan Ali suffered the injury while attempting a catch.

Hasan Ali was introduced into the attack, and during the fifth ball of his very first over, the scary moment took place. Hasan bowled a delivery pitched on a good length outside the fourth stump line. Bangladesh batter Tanzid Hasan was slightly late while defending the ball and ended up chipping it in the air towards Hasan Ali’s right side.

Hasan Ali Hurt While Attempting Difficult Catch

As a result, Hasan completed his follow-through and dived full stretch in an attempt to take the catch. Although he managed to get his fingertips on the ball, he could not hold onto it. Unfortunately, while landing after the dive, Hasan appeared to hurt his head badly.

Soon after the fall, the physio quickly rushed onto the field as Hasan stayed down in pain. Furthermore, a stretcher was brought onto the ground, and the Pakistan pacer was eventually taken off the field for medical attention.

However, there was positive news for Pakistan later in the innings. Importantly, Hasan Ali returned to the field in the 19th over after the head injury scare. Moreover, he resumed bowling and looked fit and comfortable, which came as a huge relief for the Pakistan camp.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh have not had the best start in their first innings. At the moment, they are struggling at 80 for 3 in 21 overs as Pakistan bowlers continue to put pressure on the batting lineup.
