Fuming Shaheen Afridi Gets Disrespectful [Source: X]
In a rare moment, Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi lost his cool after getting dismissed on a duck during the PSL 2026 encounter between Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators.
Lahore were in a deep mess when the skipper walked out to bat at no. 7. However, instead of helping his team, Afridi bagged a duck and vented out his frustration.
Shaheen Afridi breaks his bat after a poor outing
Lahore Qalandars had a poor start batting first. They lost 5 wickets at just 60 runs on the board. That’s when Shaheen Afridi promoted himself up the order.
Abdullah Shafique had just been dismissed on the second ball of the 11th over by Usman Tariq, and Afridi, the new batter in, cracked under pressure.
Attempting an ambitious slog sweep, Shaheen Afridi was clearly not in control of the shot as Tariq cleverly slowed it down.
The ball took a leading edge and ballooned towards slip, where Saud Shakeel showed great awareness to backtrack and complete a sharp catch, and suddenly Lahore were 6 wickets down at 60 runs on the board.
Meanwhile, Shaheen Afridi was livid with his dismissal, and on his way back to the dressing room, he broke his bat by bashing it twice onto the ground. Afridi was clearly fuming and disappointed with himself.

Lahore Qalandars’ PSL 2026 campaign is in shambles
That being said, Shaheen Afridi’s anger also emerged from the fact that the Lahore Qalandars are performing poorly in the PSL 2026 season. With just 2 wins in 5 games, they slipped to 7th spot on the points table.
They lost their previous clash to Peshawar Zalmi, where the batting unit failed to put even a total of 100 runs on the board. Before that, against Islamabad United, Lahore got bundled on 100 runs.
Clearly, the batting woes have been persistent, and Shaheen Afridi, despite being the captain, is unable to fix these recurring issues. At this rate, Lahore Qalandars, the defending champions, may not even qualify for the playoffs this year.
Quetta Gladiators hold an edge vs Lahore Qalandars
Coming back to the game, Quetta Gladiators are firmly in control of the chase against Lahore Qalandars at the National Stadium, needing just 25 runs from 42 balls with eight wickets in hand.
After early setbacks, the Gladiators steadied the innings brilliantly, as Rilee Rossouw and Hasan Nawaz stitched a 99-run partnership in a 135-run chase.
Earlier in the first innings, Lahore Qalandars struggled to post a competitive total, getting bowled out for 134 despite a few late contributions.
Usman Tariq was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets, while the rest of the attack chipped in to keep Lahore’s batting lineup under control.
