Karachi Kings captain David Warner turned back the clock with his exceptional fielding efforts against the Lahore Qalandars in match number 35 of the PSL 2026 season. Leading his side at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the former Australian opener pulled off a sensational run out to get rid of young Qalandars star Mohammad Farooq inside the powerplay overs.
The senior pro also saved a certain six with his sharp fielding at the boundary. Rolling back the years with his trademark athleticism, Warner’s brilliance on the field proved pivotal in setting the tone early for Karachi Kings in the contest.
David Warner gets rid of Mohammad Farooq with a bulls-eye throw
A livewire on the field, David Warner orchestrated the fall of the first wicket of the Lahore Qalandars innings in match 35 of the PSL 2026 season against the Karachi Kings. Fielding at mid-off, the cricketer ran to his right and gathered the ball before having a successful shy at the stumps to trap Qalandars opener Mohammad Farooq well short of his crease.

Warner’s agility ensured that Farooq walked back to the sheds, with Qalandars getting rocked early at 24-1 in 3.3 overs.
David Warner saves a certain six off Moeen Ali
A few overs later in the innings, Karachi Kings skipper David Warner also saved a certain six off the bowling of his teammate and fellow overseas star Moeen Ali. The incident occurred during the eighth Lahore Qalandars over, when unbeaten number three Abdullah Shafique attempted to dispatch Moeen’s length ball high towards the boundary.
Warner, waiting at long on near the ropes, went into Superman mode by making a huge leap and grabbing the ball with one hand before tossing it back into the field, despite losing balance.

Warner leads Karachi Kings in must-win scenario
The Karachi Kings franchise, falling to the brink of a certain elimination from the PSL 2026 season, need to win each of their remaining matches to stay in contention for the playoffs. Under the leadership of David Warner and interim captain Moeen Ali, the franchise has registered just three wins and five defeats from eight matches so far to accumulate six points at a dismal NRR of -1.292.
Lahore Qalandars vs Karachi Kings update
Prior to the Lahore Qalandars vs Karachi Kings PSL 2026 match, David Warner won the toss and opted to field first. Unfortunately for the legendary Australian, all his Karachi Kings bowlers failed to make any impact until the first 13 overs.
Despite losing the first wicket to a run out, inside the powerplay, the Qalandars raced to 100-1 at the halfway stage of the innings. Blistering opener Fakhar Zaman tonked 61 runs off just 41 balls with five boundaries and three scorching sixes in the evening, and the cricketer shared a counterattacking 110-run partnership for the second wicket with fellow half-centurion Abdullah Shafique.
