Royal Challengers Bengaluru star batter Virat Kohli, who has been in ominous form in the IPL 2026, amassing 247 runs in 6 games, had walked off the field with an ankle niggle during the match against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. 

Moreover, in the following match versus Lucknow Super Giants, Kohli was utilised as an Impact Player for the first time in his career. Due to the minor ankle injury, Kohli was used solely as a batter to maintain his fitness, scoring 49 against Lucknow Super Giants. 

Thus, Virat Kohli's availability for the clash against Gujarat Titans became a major talking point ahead of today’s RCV vs GT game at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The talismanic batter, Virat Kohli, caused RCB and Indian fans a brief scare as he didn’t appear to field in his team’s win over Mumbai Indians. It was later confirmed that he was nursing an ankle injury.

Amid the chatter, former India head coach Ravi Shastri revealed on air that Kohli hasn’t been in the best of health lately, hinting that it may have affected his stroke-play and strike rate during the innings.

Amid the injury scare, star RCB batter Virat Kohli was seen in sublime touch during the latest nets session ahead of his side’s IPL match against Gujarat Titans in Bengaluru. 

In the now-viral videos, ‘King Kohli’ played his classical drives, slog sweeps, and lofted hits, all of which came out in full glory as Virat looked comfortable and raring to go. 

Given his hunger and passion for the sport, Kohli will push to be fully available for the whole game. Thus, Virat Kohli will most likely play tonight’s IPL 2026 match between RCB and GT. 

Otherwise, he will most definitely play as an impact player, just like the previous game. 

King Kohli eyes historic 9000 run IPL milestone vs Gujarat Titans

Thus, the RCB batter will have to produce a magical knock against GT to take back the prestigious cap from the Indian youngster.

Virat has a fine record against GT, having made 351 runs in six innings at an average of 87.75 and a strike rate of 143.26, including a century, three fifties and a best score of 101*.
