Nahid Rana misfields in PAK vs BAN Test [Source: X and Screengrab]
The Bangladesh vs Pakistan first Test is already underway, and the match has produced some solid action after the end of Day 2. The game, which started on May 8 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, saw Bangladesh put up a solid total on the board.
However, while defending it, a massive fielding blunder had Nahid Rana hide his face in shame. It was probably one of the worst misfields of all time, although it cost Bangladesh far less than it deserved to.
Bangladesh In Prime Position Before Nahid Rana’s Blunder
Bangladesh were in a prime position after they put up a total of 413 on the board before getting bundled out. Contributions from Najmul Hossain Shanto, the skipper, along with Mushfiqur Rahim and Mominul Haque laid the foundation for Bangladesh’s massive total.
Although Mahmudul Hasan Joy was sent back early by Shaheen Afridi alongside Shadman Islam, the duo of Mominul Haque and Shanto stood resiliently to build the mammoth total on the board.
Shanto scored a quick 130-ball 101 before getting dismissed in the 53rd over, while Mominul made a resilient 200-ball 91 to add to Bangladesh's tally.

Mushfiqur Rahim too played a valiant knock of 71 runs from 179 deliveries, while the lower order saw Taskin Ahmed smash a quickfire 19-ball 28 to close the innings after 118 overs.
Nahid Rana Displays Worst Misfields Of All Time
Nevertheless, on Day 2, as Pakistan came out to bat with openers Azan Awais and Imam-ul-Haq, a rare moment took place during the last ball of the 14th over as Taskin Ahmed was bowling.
Imam-ul-Haq played a beautiful late glance to a good-length delivery that came angling in towards the batter. As the ball rolled towards fine leg, Nahid Rana, who was stationed near the boundary, came running towards the ball to stop it.
In the process, he tried to be quick as Imam and Awais exchanged a single and attempted to grab the ball with one hand. As he bent over, the ball slipped through the gap and he misfielded.
Brushing off the error, Rana quickly looked towards the ball that had gone behind him. In an attempt to pick it up, he failed again as he could not get hold of the ball properly.
For the third time too, it turned into a funny error as Nahid again failed to collect the ball cleanly.
Ultimately, in his fourth attempt, he managed to palm the ball back towards the wicketkeeper. However, the misfield did not cost Bangladesh much since the batters only managed to take one run from that delivery.
Nahid Rana Failed To Impress With The Ball
More importantly, Rana was not impressive with his bowling either. As Pakistan came in to bat, Azan Awais cruised to a comfortable unbeaten 85 off 133 deliveries at the end of Day 2, while Imam-ul-Haq was sent back by Mehidy Hasan Miraz for 45 runs.
Nahid Rana's contribution was not effective enough since he conceded 47 runs from his nine overs at an economy rate of 5.22. Alongside Nahid, Ebadot Hossain, Taijul Islam, and Taskin Ahmed bowled as well but failed to pick up wickets.
As things stand, Pakistan are currently in a comfortable position with 179 runs on the board for the loss of one wicket. With nine wickets still in hand, they currently trail Bangladesh by 234 runs.
