After a serious health scare of ex-India cricketer Vinod Kambli, his wife Andrea Hewitt has shared a recent update on the recovery of the friend of Sachin Tendulkar.
Just a few days earlier, Vinod Kambli was reported to be at risk of a brain stroke due to an unhealthy lifestyle and the ongoing recovery process after being diagnosed with a blood clot in his brain earlier.
Overall, Kambli's health was fragile, and, as his friend Marcus Coutos stated, his financial stability was not in good shape either. However, Kambli's wife has dismissed the rumours surrounding his health.
Vinod Kambli’s Wife Dismisses Brain Stroke Rumours
In a recent development, Andrea Hewitt has dismissed the rumours surrounding his delicate health, sharing that there has been false information about his condition.
Speaking to journalist Vickey Lalwani, Andrea stated that Vinod is fine. “By God’s grace, Vinod is fine. I don’t know who is spreading false information about his health,” she told journalist Vickey Lalwani.
What Serious Illness Vinod Kambli Might Have Had?
Marcus, Vinod’s close friend, earlier report of Kambli's brain stroke risk had raised concerns about his condition. Marcus had also revealed that he created a WhatsApp group including Kambli's cricketer friends and well-wishers who contribute towards his care.
“I have formed a WhatsApp group including his friends, mostly cricketers, and without taking names, they contribute a lot financially. Vinod has a clot in his brain, which cannot be removed because he did not take precautions early. And the doctor has suggested that he could have a brain stroke,” Marcus told The Hindustan Times Digital.

Demoralising State Of Vinod Kambli Since 2024
The World Cup participator for India, has struggled with lifestyle-related issues in the past, although he has shown signs of recovery; his decreased mobility was something that had concerned people.
Kambli was last seen in public in March this year, when he visited the Annsh Cricket Academy, where he was seen struggling to walk properly.
His health has been troubling him since 2012, when he suffered from coronary diseases and underwent multiple angioplasties between 2012 and 2013. Later, he was diagnosed with several lifestyle-related diseases, too, along with a severe urinary infection in 2024.
The urinary infection affected the cricketer majorly, which led him to collapse at his home. He was admitted to the hospital immediately, where he was kept under constant medical observation for months.
Kambli Still At Huge Health Risk
Vinod Kambli's recent life-threatening sickness has been attributed to his carefree lifestyle, where he reportedly quit alcohol, but smoking still remains a major concern for the ex-India cricketer.
In fact, Kambli has also struggled with significant memory loss, where he often forgets many incidents temporarily and can only remember things in fragments.
Nevertheless, though his recovery has been supported financially by friends like Sachin Tendulkar and Kapil Dev, his return to full fitness has not been widely visible in public yet.
