On Monday, massive drama unfolded in Dambulla, where India A players engaged in an ugly altercation with Sri Lanka A players. The highly anticipated clash went into the super-over, where Sri Lanka A won the match by 7 runs.
Following the conclusion of the match, India batters Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Suryansh Shedge got into a fight with the hosts, and the 15-year-old got into a lot of trouble for pushing away a Lankan player.
What Happened Between Vaibhav Sooryavanshi And Sri Lanka Players
Notably, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is struggling to get runs in the ongoing tri-series and also failed to do the job for India A in the super over. As soon as Vaibhav and Suryansh Shedge were returning to the pavilion, a Sri Lanka player said something, which irked the Indian duo.
Sooryavanshi and Shedge engaged in a verbal altercation, but things went out of hand after Vaibhav Sooryavanshi pushed away one of the players. It created a stir on social media, and the internet is divided.

Several pundits have slammed the 15-year-old for getting physical and not upholding the spirit of cricket. However, a small faction of fans also slammed Sri Lanka for playing mind games, which actually forced India A to bat during bad light.
Former Sri Lanka Manager Abuses Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
In the latest events, former Sri Lanka media manager Brian Thomas has come down heavily on the 15-year-old and slammed him for his post-match behaviour. Brian Thomas used derogatory language and mocked Vaibhav Sooryavanshi over his village background.
“Just saw the footage of Suriyavanchi and his bloody arrogance. Sadly, no yellow or red cards in Cricket. If the match referee suspends this cowboy for the next game , he will learn the meaning of behaviour. What can u expect from a village kid from India, where, unlike in Sri Lanka, they lack literacy in their upbringing. So Sooriyawanchi, if you are unhappy, call your sugar daddies in India and go back home, because this is a gentleman’s game.
Will Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Be Fined By ICC For His Actions?
While Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s has sent a wave of concern among Indian fans whether the 15-year-old will be punished by the ICC. Notably, in such scenarios, the apex cricket council often punish a player and in cases of physical altercation, there is always a risk of a ban.
It is worth noting that since Sooryavanshi’s incident occurred on a ‘A’ tour and not in an international match, the cricketer will likely not face any sanction from the ICC. However, the youngster can still face some form of punishment or a fine from match referee, and even from the BCCI for his misdemeanor.
Hence, the fans can breathe a sigh of relief as Sooryavanshi is eligible to play against Ireland, right from the 1st T20I.
