Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has reportedly apologised to Pakistan spinner Usman Tariq after a heated moment during the second T20I in Lahore.

Green was seen accusing Tariq of chucking after his dismissal, which sparked debate on social media.

The incident came during a crushing Pakistan win that handed Australia one of their worst T20 defeats in years.

Cameron Green apologises after on-field accusation

The incident happened during Australia’s run chase at Gaddafi Stadium in the second T20I. Cameron Green was dismissed for 35 in the 11th over by Usman Tariq.

As he walked back to the dugout, Cameron Green made a throwing action with his arm. Many felt he was accusing Tariq of chucking.

The moment quickly spread online. Fans reacted strongly on both sides. Tariq later posted a video of a crying child on Instagram with the caption “After getting out,” followed by a laughing emoji.

A day later, he posted, “Apology accepted,” suggesting that Cameron Green had privately apologised for his actions and chucking accusations. But Cameron is yet to confirm the same.

However, there has been no official complaint from Australia or the umpires. Pakistan captain Salman Agha had criticised Green’s behaviour. He said judging bowling actions is not a player’s job.

Khawaja backs Usman Tariq as debate grows

Australian batter Usman Khawaja, meanwhile, came out in support of Usman. He shared an Instagram story asking fans to show understanding.

Khawaja said being called a 'chucker' is one of the worst accusations in cricket. He reminded people that Tariq has been cleared twice. Khawaja urged fans not to jump to conclusions without facts.

Usman Tariq, meanwhile, finished the match with figures of 2 for 16 in 2.4 overs. He also dismissed Matthew Kuhnemann as Pakistan bowled Australia out for just 108 in 15.4 overs. All ten wickets fell to spin.

It was Australia’s heaviest T20I defeat in 21 years. Pakistan took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series with a 90-run win. They also trashed Australia by 111 runs in the third T20I to complete a clean sweep.

Tariq’s action, tests, and past scrutiny

Usman Tariq has an unusual bowling action. He pauses before release and bowls with a bent arm. His action has drawn attention before, as he was twice reported during the PSL seasons in 2024 and 2025.

Both times, Tariq underwent biomechanical testing at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. On both occasions, he was cleared to bowl.

Under ICC rules, an action is illegal only if the elbow extends more than 15 degrees. Natural hyperextension is allowed.

Usman had earlier explained that his bent arm is due to a physical condition. He says his elbow bends naturally. He has also played in several leagues, including the CPL and ILT20, with the same action and taken eight T20I wickets at an economy rate of 5.62.

Despite repeated clearances, questions continue to follow him. Usman Tariq has spoken strongly against what he calls uninformed criticism. He says fans should understand the game before making allegations.
