That being said, let’s take a look at every detail about The Hundred Auction 2026, including date, venue, salary cap, and how the first-ever bidding war is set to unfold.
The Hundred Auction 2026: Date, Time, and Venue

The Hundred Auction 2026 Rules
In previous editions of The Hundred, the eight men’s and women’s franchises conducted drafts to develop their squads, but this year, the competition is switching to an IPL-like auction system.

In the auction, players will be listed one by one to the eight teams, with the highest bidder signing them for the upcoming season.
Players are grouped into three tiers based on franchise interest:
- Hero
- Ranked
- Nominated
Hero players go first in the bidding, followed by Ranked and then Nominated.
Pre-auction Signings
However, it is important to note that not all players will be selected via the bidding war, with some teams already making up to four pre-auction signings.
It is worth noting that many IPL team owners have also become investors in Hundred franchises before the season.
Ahead of The Hundred Auction, each team were to submit a list of roughly 100-200 players they're most interested in signing, based on aggregated interest. Those collective names then formed a longlist of approximately 400, who'll go under the gavel on 11 and 12 March.
The Hundred Auction 2026 Purse Value
Following significant investment coming into the Hundred this, the salary cap and amount that players can earn has significantly increased.
