The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is just around the corner, and the main tournament will take place from 7 February to 8 March 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. During this time, 20 teams will compete to become the world’s best T20 side.

However, before the main matches start, teams will play warm-up games from 2 February to 6 February. Notably, these matches help teams prepare better, as they allow players to test new strategies, try different team combinations, and get used to local weather and pitch conditions.

In total, 16 warm-up matches will be played across four venues in India, Bengaluru, Navi Mumbai, and Chennai and Sri Lanka’s Colombo. Meanwhile, the official tournament will begin with Pakistan facing the Netherlands on 7 February.

Unlike official T20I matches, warm-up games do not affect tournament points. Teams can freely rotate all 15 players without announcing a fixed playing XI. So, let's take a look at all the important information you need to know about the T20 World Cup warm-up matches.
