The members discussed several agendas, including BCCI’s 100th anniversary.Notably, the apex cricket board of India, which was established in 1928, will complete 100 years in 2028. In the recently concluded AGM, the members unanimously agreed for a centenary celebration.The board has planned a year-long celebration starting in December 2027 and continuing through 2028.CAB To Contact BCCI For Special Tri-Series For IndiaThe BCCI is actively planning for centenary celebration, and in the latest events, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has also jumped onto the bandwagon. As reported by The Telegraph, the CAB is mulling a special tri-series involving the Indian team to mark the special occasion.The exact details of the plan are not out in the public domain yet, but the Association wants to host a tournament or a tri-series with India at the iconic Eden Gardens. The CAB wants the iconic venue in Kolkata to get a marquee event, which could mean that top-ranked sides might be approached.The matter was discussed during CAB’s 95th annual general meeting at Eden Gardens on Thursday.“We will gradually get going with our preparation for the centenary year. We’ll also write to the BCCI so that the celebration goes on to be a special one, including a marquee game (at the Eden),” CAB president Sourav Ganguly said.BCCI’s Plans For Next FTP RevealedThe ICC held a workshop on the Future Tour Programme in Dubai from September 22 to 23. However, the board feels that multilateral events are more exciting and financially viable as well. Hence, CAB's idea can turn into reality because it matches BCCI's vision.BCCI Mulls Special India vs Rest of World Match For 100 Year CelebrationThe BCCI is planning to organise an India XI vs Rest of the World XI match as part of its celebrations marking 100 years of the board, as reported by Anandabazar Patrika. The format and date of the proposed fixture is not out yet, but prominent figures across the globe can unite to line-up against a mighty Indian side.
