India is set to travel to New Zealand for a multi-format tour, starting with the T20I leg on October 22 in Christchurch. Meanwhile, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi did not feature in any of the five matches against West Indies.

When asked about the youngster’s chances of getting an opportunity in the near future during the post-match presentation, Indian captain Shreyas Iyer revealed what he has been telling the 15-year-old.

“I just keep telling him you will get the opportunity, if you be consistent about your processes, you have to wait sometimes, we have got two fantastic openers, that's the conversations we have been having with Vaibhav,” Shreyas Iyer said.

Fans have been eager to see the Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in action for India, but Iyer’s comments highlight the importance of staying patient and consistent while waiting for the right opportunity.
