Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has become one of the most talked-about young cricketers in India. The 15-year-old sensation grabbed attention with his outstanding performances in IPL 2026.
As a result, discussions about his future have grown rapidly. Many experts are now talking about his chances of making his India debut soon. Throughout the tournament, Sooryavanshi showed remarkable consistency and maturity.
Record-Breaking IPL 2026 For Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
It is worth noting that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi enjoyed a dream season in IPL 2026. He scored 776 runs in 16 matches at an average of 48.50. In addition, he maintained a stunning strike rate of 237.31.
Moreover, his ability to handle pressure situations impressed everyone. Consequently, many observers felt that he is far more than just a hard-hitting batter.
During the Cricinfo Honours event in Mumbai on Saturday, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar spoke about the young star. Notably, Sachin Tendulkar was named the best men's international batter of the 21st century at the event.
Sachin Tendulkar Shares Valuable Advice
Notably, the event became even more special as Sachin Tendulkar was accompanied by his family, including his daughter, Sara Tendulkar. Sara was present in the audience when the cricket legend shared his thoughts on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's remarkable rise.
Tendulkar offered valuable advice while praising the teenager’s confidence and natural ability.
"I would tell him to just be himself," he said. "There is always a first time. In Test cricket, along with age, he will learn how to deal with various challenges. [It's about] having a solution-oriented mindset."
"Problems are always going to be there. Problems will be there till the last day of your career, till the last ball you face. The bowler is asking a question every ball. Now, what solutions do you find?"
"He's kind of a player who looks very confident, very, very sure of what he wants to do and I would not want to play around with his natural instincts.

"The way he sees the ball and the way he responds to that, if that signal is interrupted — if you put a lot of hurdles in between that by telling him multiple things — that's where the real challenge would be. I would give him the freedom to go out and bat the way he does. Along with time, he will learn to deal with other challenges of the game."

Sachin Tendulkar Calls For Patience
Even though many people want Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to play for India immediately, Sachin Tendulkar urged caution. According to him, young talents need support and encouragement rather than constant pressure.
"When Ajit is sitting here, I better be careful what I am saying. I'm not a selector. Not just me, but everyone would want to see him [playing Test cricket] at some stage. I don't know when that is going to happen.
"But an exciting talent needs encouragement. And if he's doing well, then we need to encourage and support him and enjoy above all and not put pressure on him constantly, you know, he should play this, or he shouldn't be doing this, or he should be picked in whatever squad. Leave that to the guys [selectors] who are responsible for that," he said.
What Lies Ahead For Vaibhav Sooryavanshi?
Meanwhile, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s next challenge will be the India-A 50-over tri-series in Sri Lanka from June 9 to 21.
After that, attention could shift towards a possible senior T20I call-up. India is scheduled to play two T20Is against Ireland in Belfast on June 26 and 28. Thereafter, a five-match T20I series against England will take place from July 1 to 11.
