On Saturday, October 31, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will lock horns for the Tri-Series final. Ahead of the crucial fixture, Salman Ali Agha spoke to the press and opened up about his life after being removed as Pakistan’s T20I captain.

For the uninitiated, Salman Ali Agha led Pakistan from 2024 to 2026 and was recently replaced by Sahibzada Farhan for the Sri Lanka T20Is. Agha opened up about the transition and said he feels less pressure now.

Agha stated that leading Pakistan is a pressure job and since he is no longer a captain, he feels less pressure now.

"If you are a captain of the Pakistan team and you say that you do not have added pressure, then I think that is wrong. There is a pressure of responsibility. When that responsibility goes away from you, then you feel less pressure. You can say that I feel less pressure now," Salman Ali Agha told the reporters.

Salman Ali Agha has been thrown out of the scheme of things from T20Is, which allows him to focus more on ODIs and Test cricket. The recent Tri-Series marked his first series since getting removed as Pakistan’s T20I captain.

Agha scored 158 runs in 4 innings, averaging 39.50. Agha scored a century in the 1st ODI against Sri Lanka, which was also his fastest for Pakistan in ODIs.

Salman Ali Agha Criticises PCB’s Decision To Send Players Back Home

Salman Ali Agha also opened up on being sent back home from England, and criticised the PCB. Agha stated that dropping players mid-series is not a good thing.

“During the series, this (sending players home) has never happened before, and I don’t think it’ll happen again. Dropping players [out of the squad] during the series is not a good thing, and hopefully it won’t happen again," Agha said at a press conference on Friday.

The PCB is yet to respond to Agha’s criticism, but his great performance across formats has earned him a return to the Test set-up.
