The India vs UAE Sixes match in the Hong Kong Sixes 2026 tournament saw a massive rolling back of time for the Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rahul Tripathi. The cricketer, who currently only plays domestic cricket and the IPL, found his way to the India squad for the Sixes tournament and shone in the October 31 match with a hat-trick of sixes.
Against UAE Sixes, Rahul Tripathi bashed three consecutive sixes in the third over to roll back the clock with his charisma of batting like he did in earlier times.

While batting as an opener for India, Tripathi bagged 24 runs from just 7 deliveries before getting dismissed by Zahid Ali. The batter hit 1 boundary and three sixes, and those maximums came with a powerful showcase of the bat.
On the second ball of the third over, Tripathi slammed Ali for a six as the latter bowled a fuller delivery outside off. Tripathi bent over his knee to slam the ball over cow corner.
The next delivery was also sent sailing. An attempted yorker was got the better of by Tripathi as he got underneath it and launched it over long-off. The third and final six was hit on the very next ball again. A fuller delivery around the leg side was whipped away with power over deep backward square leg for another maximum.

His last appearance in domestic cricket before the Hong Kong Sixes was in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he averaged 28.00 at a strike rate of 77.78.
UAE triumphs over India despite Tripathi’s heroics
Tripathi’s opening clash in the Sixes tournament was not up to the mark, with the batter bagging only 9 runs from 5 balls. However, his heroics against the UAE also fell flat as the team effort didn't come through.
UAE’s Khalid Shah packed 52 runs from just 14 deliveries and paired with Ansh Tandon to chase the target of 95 runs in just 4.2 overs. T Natarajan and Nitish Rana bore the brunt of the hitting from the pair, which marked the team's loss in the tournament.
