SRH receives massive boost from SLC before IPL 2026
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has handed fast bowler Eshan Malinga his NoC to participate in the upcoming IPL 2026 season for the SRH franchise. Malinga, who played a handful of matches for the ‘Orange Army’ last year, was one of the many players retained by them back in late 2025 prior to the IPL 2026 auction.

In seven matches, the speedster managed to grab 13 wickets at an impressive bowling average of 18.30. SLC’s approval for Malinga to play IPL 2026 comes as a huge relief for the SRH, especially since team captain Pat Cummins is set to miss the initial stage of the tournament.
PCB assemble star-studded commentary panel for PSL 2026
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has assembled a star-studded commentary panel for the upcoming PSL 2026 season. Apart from naming several Pakistani legends like Wasim Akram and Ramiz Raja in the panel, the board also included a slew of international stars in the form of Mike Haysman, Dominic Cork, Mark Butcher, Nick Knight, JP Duminy, Lisa Sthalekar as well as West Indies’ T20 World Cup winner Carlos Brathwaite.
The PSL 2026 season will also include a separate Urdu commentary panel, which consists of Shoaib Malik, Salman Butt, Sana Mir among others.
Maheesh Theekshana joins Hyderabad Kingsmen as replacement
The Hyderabad Kingsmen franchise has reportedly signed Sri Lanka spinner Maheesh Theekshana for the upcoming PSL 2026 season. Notably, Theekshana went unsold at the IPL 2026 auction late last year, thus making him available for the full tournament.
The star spinner was roped by the Kingsmen as a replacement of South Africa fast bowler Ottniel Baartman, who left the franchise to join the CSK setup in IPL 2026 as a replacement of injured Australian pacer Nathan Ellis. The PSL 2026 season is scheduled to commence later this week in Pakistan.
Sahibzada Farhan and Arundhati Reddy win ICC awards
Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has won the ICC Player of the Month award for the month of February. The cricketer pipped Will Jacks and USA fast bowler Shadley van Schalkwyk to win under the Men’s category owing to his prolific run at the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Farhan pumped out 383 runs in the tournament, even surpassing Virat Kohli in terms of aggregating most runs in a single edition.
Under the women’s category, Indian bowler Arundhati Reddy won the award for her standout performance during India’s T20I series win in Australia. Her four-wicket haul even helped the Indian team defeat Australia in the tour opener.
BCB revamp selection panel under Habibul Bashar
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially appointed former captain Habibul Bashar as the new chairman of Bangladesh’s selection panel. Notably, the BCB also expanded the panel to four members instead of three, naming former players Hasibul Hossain, Naeem Islam and Nadif Chowdhury as other members in the committee.
One of the primary agendas of the new selection panel is to prepare a Bangladesh team for the 2027 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup next year.
