Talking about Rohit Sharma, he has had a brilliant tournament so far and amassed 137 runs in four matches, which includes a solitary fifty-plus score which came against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Who Can Replace Rohit Sharma In MI's Playing XI?
In Rohit Sharma's absence, they have limited options at the top. Ideally, Quinton de Kock is expected to return to the playing XI and open the innings with Ryan Rickelton. In that situation, MI would have to bench Trent Boult because of the overseas quota in IPL.
With De Kock's return, MI will have Ryan Rickelton, Sherfane Rutherford, and Mitchell Santner as the four overseas cricketers.
If we look at Indian options, then MI can actually promote Tilak Varma up the order and open innings. It will also allow Suryakumar Yadav to bat at No.3. Notably, both batters are out of touch. Further, Hardik Pandya, in the last match, mentioned that the team will undergo several changes for the upcoming matches.
Hence, we can see a couple of changes in the playing XI for MI vs PBKS match at the Wankede Stadium on Thursday, April 16.
