In a significant development, the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) had expanded its anti-doping testing pool, adding two prominent Indian cricketers to the list. Those two players were integral members of the India T20 World Cup 2026 squad that ended up winning the competition.
Under Suryakumar Yadav's leadership, the Indian team enjoyed stellar success in T20 World Cup 2026, becoming the first-ever side to defend the title and win three trophies in the format.
After leading the team to an emphatic T20 World Cup victory, the Indian cricketers are engaged in the IPL 2026. Amid the marquee T20 league, two high-profile names from the India T20 World Cup 2026 squad have been added to NADA's anti-doping testing pool.
What is NADA's anti-doping testing pool?
The National Anti-Doping Agency keeps a track of athletes from different sporting disciplines. Its primary job is to check whether the players are consuming any prohibited drugs to enhance their on-field performances.
The anti-doping testing pool is a list of athletes who have been asked to share their whereabouts with NADA and remain available for testing within a pre-decided window each day.

If any athlete from the Registered Testing Pool (RTP) fails to meet these conditions, NADA finds him or her guilty of a doping violation and takes immediate action accordingly.
Thus, the anti-doping testing pool helps NADA not only protect the basic essence of sportsmanship but also sanction the violators as per the severity of their offence.
