In the IPL 2026 match between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side have dealt another injury blow. The five-time winners are already sweating hard over players' fitness and now they have a new player added in the list to worry about.
Minus the injury blow to the star pacer, it has been a night to celebrate for Chennai Super Kings as the Men in Yellow handed KKR a 32 run defeat to go 8th on the table with 4 points in five matches.
CSK Dominate KKR
Talking about the match, CSK , batting first, put 192 runs on the board. Sanju Samson set the tone with a brilliant 48-run knock, which featured four fours and three sixes. Ayush Mhatre and Dewald Brevis too played brilliant 30+ knocks.
In reply, KKR got off to the worst possible start and lost six wickets for just 90 runs. Noor Ahmad was the star with the ball as he picked up a three-wicket haul. Other than Noor, Khaleel Amed, Anshul Kamboj, and Akeal Hosein also picked up a solitary wicket.
Khaleel Ahmed Walks Off The Field With Injury
As mentioned above, Khaleel Ahmed played a big part in KKR's collapse. The left-arm seamer took a crucial wicket of Sunil Narine. However, the CSK pacer suffered an injury in his final over of the spell.

Notably, on the last ball of his fourth over, Khaleel pulled his hamstring and was in visible pain. He tried to bowl the only remaining ball of his spell a couple of times but failed to do so. Eventually, Khaleel Ahmed walked off the field in pain.
Khaleel is most likely to go for scans and any update will be provided after the results. Eventually, Gurjapneet Singh bowled the final ball of the 17th over and went for a four.
CSK will miss Khaleel Ahmed if he misses the upcoming game as he has 2 wickets in five matches. Notably, the Men in Yellow will next face SRH on April 18.
MS Dhoni Nears Complete Fitness
Talking about CSK's injury concerns, they had MS Dhoni and Dewald Brevis injured before the start of the season. The duo suffered side-strain, which affected CSK as the Men in Yellow lost first three matches in IPL 2026.

Notably, Dewald Brevis has also returned to the playing XI and has featured in two IPL matches since injury. However, MS Dhoni still continues to nurse his injury. There were reports that he might return for the KKR match, but the fans have to wait for more time. It is to be seen if Dhoni will return against SRH.
