Rishabh Pant is set to re-join the Delhi Capitals franchise as part of a high-profile trade. Arshdeep Singh will be rested from India’s third ODI against Afghanistan. In other news, Australia defeated Bangladesh to secure a rare T20I series win.

Capitals, LSG set for huge Kuldeep Yadav and Rishabh Pant swap

The LSG and the Delhi Capitals franchises are set to make a historic trade between senior wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant and ace India spinner Kuldeep Yadav for next year’s IPL 2027 season. If the deal comes to fruition, it will mark Pant’s return to the Capitals franchise following his two-year captaincy stint with the LSG group.

KL Rahul frontrunner to become Delhi Capitals captain: Report

Senior Indian opener KL Rahul has emerged as the frontrunner to become the next captain of the Delhi Capitals franchise. The legendary top-order batter was roped in by the Capitals back in 2025 last year, and has since aggregated over 1,100 runs for them in just two seasons. 

While Rahul has been considered to replace Axar Patel as new Capitals skipper, the franchise is yet to make any official statement regarding the development. 

Arshdeep Singh to be rested for third ODI vs AFG

Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh will likely be rested from the playing XI for the upcoming third ODI of the series against Afghanistan. The senior speedster has already taken five wickets in two innings of the series, which included a match-winning three-wicket haul in Lucknow. 

India’s assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate stated that Arshdeep might be rested from the Chennai ODI, and the management might also make a couple of more changes to the team’s composition before the England tour. 

Prema Rawat replaces injured Shreyanka Patil in T20 World Cup 2026

India Women spinner Shreyanka Patil has been ruled out of the remaining of the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup owing to an injury she suffered earlier this week. The BCCI has now named young Prema Rawat into the team as Patil’s official replacement.

It is worth noting that Rawat is yet to play an international match for the India Women’s team. The 24-year-old, however, has played six WPL games for the RCB franchise.

Australia records historic series win in Bangladesh

Australia edged out Bangladesh by seven runs in a high-scoring second T20I to go 2-0 up in the three-match T20I series in Chattogram. The outcome handed Australia its first-ever T20I series win against Bangladesh, at either home or away. 

An 89* from Matt Renshaw helped Australia mount 196-7 in 20 overs, before bowlers Nathan Ellis (1-27), Joel Davies (1-21) and Adam Zampa (1-39) restricted Bangladesh to 189-6.
