In a significant development, the PCB has announced a fresh Pakistani squad after boycotting the T20 World Cup match against India. On Monday afternoon, the PCB unveiled Pakistan Shaheens' squad for the white-ball series against England Lions.
Shamyl Hussain will lead the Pakistan Shaheens team, which also comprises several emerging players such as Abdul Samad, Arafat Minhas, Hasan Nawaz and Ahmed Daniyal. The Shaheens will cross swords against England Lions across eight white-ball matches, including three T20Is and five ODIs, in February-March.

Left-handed batter Shamyl Hussain is set to lead the Pakistan Shaheens against England Lions across eight white-ball matches, set to be played in Abu Dhabi. Destructive middle-order player Abdul Samad forms the Shaheens' batting core with the promising duo of Arafat Minhas and Rohail Nazir.
After being ignored for the T20 World Cup 2026, Hasan Nawaz gets a golden opportunity to regain his spot. He has been included in the Shaheens' 16-member squad that will take on England Lions in the Gulf nation.
Maaz Sadaqat, who starred with the bat for Pakistan in the Asia Cup Rising Stars, also finds a place in the team and is expected to spearhead the Shaheens' top-order against the Lions.
Promising right-handed batter Sameer Minhas, who finished the under-19 World Cup 2026 as Pakistan's highest run-getter, will assist the decorated quartet of Samad, Minhas, Nawaz and Sadaqat in the bilateral series. Minhas enjoyed stellar success in the tournament, amassing 197 runs across five innings at an average of 65.67 and a strike rate of 105.35.
Ahmed Daniyal, Ali Raza to lead PAK Shaheens' bowling unit vs Lions
Talking about Pakistan Shaheens' bowling unit, right-arm pace duo of Ahmed Daniyal and Ali Raza is expected to play a key role against the Lions. While Daniyal is a capped player and brings international experience to the table, Ali Raza was impressive in the U19 World Cup and Asia Cup, scalping 22 wickets combined across ten outings.
Sufyan Moqim, who was axed to accommodate Usman Tariq in Pakistan's T20 World Cup squad, will now represent the Shaheens against England Lions. Considering the surface in Abu Dhabi offers genuine assistance to the spinners, Muqeem's guile and variations could play a decisive role in the white-ball series.
