Babar Azam as the Pakistan Test captain [Source: AFP]Pakistan's next generation has quietly delivered a statement that its senior side has struggled to make in the recent time. While the Pakistan senior team endured a miserable run with the bat against England, failing to reach 200 in either of their two Tests, the Under-19 side has already shown a vastly different temperament. In their ongoing Youth Test at Arundel, Pakistan Under-19 crossed the 250-run mark in their very first innings, reaching 257/6 by the close of play on Day 2. Pakistan Under-19 shames senior team against EnglandPakistan's young batters have put together a substantial innings and kept the scoreboard moving, something which Pakistan was unable to do. After England Under-19 posted 333, Pakistan's youngsters responded with 257/6 in just 65 overs, leaving themselves only 77 runs short of England's first-innings total. The biggest takeaway, however, is the manner in which Pakistan Under-19 have gone about their innings. Six batters have already crossed double figures in their first innings, while Abdul Qadir's 122.22 strike rate provided the aggression that complemented the more patient contributions around him. At 257/6, the youngsters have not merely survived England's attack but have also put themselves in a position to potentially take a first-innings lead.Pakistan senior team vs Under-19 team gameplay comparedThe difference between the two Pakistan teams becomes clearer when their batting performances in England are placed side by side. In the first Test at Leeds, the senior side was dismissed for 171 and 135, meaning its combined tally across two innings was only 306. In the second Test at Lord's, Pakistan again struggled early, being bowled out for just 110 in the first innings, although a much-improved 194 in the second innings showed some resistance. The Under-19 side, meanwhile, has already accumulated a 250+ score in its first innings at Arundel. More importantly, the youngsters have shown a greater spread of contributions. Abdul Qadir's attacking half-century provided momentum, while Ahmed Hussain, Hamza Zahoor and the unbeaten Hasnain Abbas Dar helped keep the innings together. Also Read- Babar Azam Faces Fresh Fitness Concern Ahead Pakistan Vs England 3rd TestThe senior team's first innings at Leeds had just three batters cross 20, with Abdullah Shafique's 61 and Imam-ul-Haq's 42 providing most of the resistance. At Lord's, Azan Awais' 46 was the highest score in the first innings, while only Saud Shakeel offered substantial resistance in the second innings with 97.More importantly, Pakistan's Under-19 batters have displayed a combination of aggression and stability, with multiple players contributing instead of leaving the responsibility on one or two individuals. With 257/6 already on the board, they have also shown that playing in English conditions does not necessarily have to mean batting defensively or waiting for the pressure to disappear. The Under-19 team are just 77 runs behind England's first-innings 333, with four wickets still available. That leaves the visitors in a position where the first innings will be everything about pushing for control.A warning shot for Pakistan's seniors ahead of BirminghamThe Under-19s' showing in English conditions could become more than just an encouraging result for Pakistan cricket since it is also a timely warning for the senior side who struggled in the same circumstances. With a major overhaul already reshaping the national setup, the youngsters have added another layer of pressure on established names to deliver. Pakistan's senior team now has little room for excuses when they return to action in the Birmingham Test on September 9. The next generation has shown that England can be challenged with calm and intent. Now, the experienced vets must provide the response on the field and prove that the overhaul has produced a team capable of competing. Also Read- Revealed: Why VVS Laxman Won't Replace Ajit Agarkar As India's Chief Selector
