Pakistan ODI Squad For 1st Ever Historical Series Announced

In a significant development, Pakistan are preparing to host a historic cricket series, as the Zimbabwe women’s team will visit the country for the first time. 

Ahead of the white-ball series, the Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 15-player squad for the ODI series. Notably, these matches will be played at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi from May 4 to May 9. After this, a three-match T20I series will take place, and its squad will be shared later.

At the same time, Fatima Sana will lead the team in all three ODIs. These matches are part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2025–29, so they carry great importance. The games are scheduled for May 4, 6, and 9. 

Momina Riasat receives first Pakistan ODI squad call-up

Moreover, uncapped player Momina Riasat has earned a place in the squad following her impressive performances in domestic cricket. In the PAK-W National T20 2026, the young spinner claimed 16 wickets in 9 innings while maintaining an economy rate of 6.92. 

Similarly, in the Women’s One Day Cup 2025, she picked up 19 wickets in 8 innings with an economy rate of 3.77.

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe women’s team will arrive in Karachi on April 29. Both teams will train at the stadium from April 30 to May 3, allowing them to get ready for the series.

Currently, Pakistan are ranked 5th in the championship standings, while Zimbabwe holds the 8th position. Therefore, both teams will be focused on gaining important points during this series.

Pakistan to participate in Ireland Women’s T20I Tri-series following Zimbabwe series

After the ODI matches, Pakistan Women will take part in the Ireland Women’s T20I Tri-Series 2026. This tournament will include Ireland and West Indies, and it is set to begin on May 28. As a result, the Zimbabwe series will help Pakistan prepare for this upcoming competition.

Furthermore, the series will also play a role in Pakistan’s preparation for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. The tournament will be held in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5, making these matches valuable for building form and confidence.

Following this, the T20I series against Zimbabwe will be held at the same venue on May 12, 14, and 15, with matches starting at 7:30 pm.

It is also important to note that Pakistan are placed in Group 1 for the T20 World Cup 2026. The group includes India, South Africa, Bangladesh, Australia, and the Netherlands, which means strong competition ahead.
