In a shocking statement, Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali revealed that his wife supports the Indian cricket team. Ali confessed that even during the India-Pakistan rivalry, his wife openly cheers for the men in blue.
The India-Pakistan rivalry has been one of the most-watched and hyped contests in the sporting world. However, since the last couple of decades, the rivalry has turned one-sided as India has consistently dominated in ICC tournaments.
Hasan Ali opens up on his wife’s open support for India
During an interview with ‘Pak Passion,’ Pakistan cricketer Hasan Ali was asked, “Why does Pakistan keep losing to India? Is it because your Indian wife doesn't want you to beat them?”
To this, Hasan revealed that his wife, Samiya, definitely supports India, but at the same time, she also wants him to perform well for Pakistan.
“She supports me, but she is Indian & wants India to win too,” Ali said.
Answering the second part of the question, he added that the men in blue are miles ahead because their domestic and grassroots cricket is on the right path.
"The real reason is that India are on the right path. Their IPL & domestic cricket give players year-round experience, and that's why they're dominating world cricket right now,” Ali said.

Who is Samiya Arzoo?
Interestingly, Samiya Arzoo supports India because she is an Indian. She was born in Haryana and studied Aeronautical Engineering at Manav Rachna University, Faridabad.
Samiya worked as a flight engineer with Emirates Airlines in Dubai, where she met Hasan Ali. The friendship blossomed into love, and the couple got married in 2019.
The wedding was held in Dubai, where several Pakistan cricketers marked their presence. Despite being from different countries, the couple share the utmost respect for each other.
Hasan Ali and Samiya are also blessed with two kids, both daughters. However, due to visa issues, Hasan has never been to India to visit his in-laws.
When did Hasan Ali last play for Pakistan
Having said that, on the field, Hasan Ali is currently playing in the County Cricket Championship for Yorkshire. He last played for Pakistan in May during the Test series against Bangladesh.
As for ODI cricket, Hasan has been snubbed out since August 2025. He is doubtful for the 2027 ODI World Cup as well since players like Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah are likely to be prioritised.
Even in the T20I format, Hasan Ali last played for Pakistan in August 2025. He was dropped for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
Despite being one of the senior-most bowlers, Hasan is consistently struggling to beat competition and secure a permanent place in the Pakistan cricket team. With another World Cup coming in 2027, Hasan Ali must perform consistently to impress the selectors.
