Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan recently made triggering remarks about Team India that left everyone shocked. Rizwan made these comments during a net practice session with a Pakistani journalist ahead of the ODIs against Bangladesh.
Notably, Mohammad Rizwan was not a part of the Pakistan side, which was eliminated from the Super-8 stage in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026. Meanwhile, he is set to be a part of Pakistan’s ODI squad for the upcoming three-match series against Bangladesh.
“I don’t watch” - Mohammad Rizwan on India’s performances in T20 World Cup 2026
During his conversation with a journalist, Mohammad Rizwan was seen praising the Pakistan cricket team despite their miserable run of form in the T20 World Cup 2026. Accordingly, the journalist reminded him about Pakistan’s failure to qualify for the semi-finals and poor performance against Sri Lanka.
Furthermore, the 33-year-old wicketkeeper-batter was also given a reality check by the journalist with reference to India's performance. But what left everyone shocked was Rizwan’s reply about the journalist's 'India' remarks.
Here’s how the conversation unfolded:
Rizwan - Pakistan got eliminated from the WC because of net run rate.
Journalist - But the match against Sri Lanka went really badly for us.
Rizwan - It doesn’t matter. In the end, we won that match, that’s what counts.
Journalist - But look at the brand of cricket India is playing.
Rizwan - Sorry, I don’t watch their matches.
A horrific run for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2026
Speaking of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign, they struggled to win their campaign opener against the Netherlands. Later, they lost one-sidedly by 61 runs against the arch-rivals India in the second game.
Following this defeat, the Salman Agha-led Pakistan qualified for Super-8 with wins against lower-ranked teams, the USA and Namibia. But the team looked completely clueless in the next round.
In the Super-8 round, they lost to England before struggling for a five-run win against Sri Lanka, which couldn’t help them stay alive in the semi-final race. The Pakistan management also made some major changes in the white-ball setup after the team’s awful exit from the marquee international tournament.

Pakistan to face Bangladesh with fresh faces in ODI squad
The Pakistan selectors recently announced the ODI squad for the three-match series against Bangladesh. The omission of ODI specialists in Babar Azam and Saim Ayub also drew a lot of criticism for the selectors from the former cricketers, experts and the fans.
It also happened to be awkward for the fans and experts as the Pakistan selectors decided to make changes in the ODI squad on the basis of failure in the T20I format. Apart from that, the inclusion of some young players without any satisfactory credentials in domestic cricket also left the former cricketers fuming.
“I don’t even know some of these young players and a few of them haven’t had very satisfactory numbers in List-A cricket,” said Shahid Afridi on Samaa TV.
Here’s a look at Pakistan’s squad for ODI series against Bangladesh
Shaheen Afridi (C), Abdul Sasmad, Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Faisal Akram, Haris Rauf, Hussain Talat, Maaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Rizwan (WK), Mohammad Wasim Jr, Ghazi Ghori (WK), Saad Masood, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Agha, and Shamyl Hussain.
Pakistan fans show Rizwan his place after offensive remarks for India
Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan's offensive remarks for India didn't sit well even with the Pakistan cricket fans. They didn't take much time in schooling Rizwan about sportsmanspirit and improve his mentality as a cricketer.
