Young leg-spinner Medhavi Bidhuri became an overnight sensation after she broke the internet with a now-viral 6-7 celebration in the ongoing season of the Women's Delhi Premier League (WDPL 2026).

The Central Delhi Queens spinner picked up two wickets in the opening match of the season, during which she unveiled a celebration inspired by Gen Z memes.

However, by the second match of the WDPL 2026, Medhavi Bidhuri paid the price for her viral celebration.

During the fixture against the East Delhi Riders Women, spinner Bharti Rawal copied the famous 6-7 celebration to rejoice Bidhuri’s wicket with her teammates.

Talking about the match, East Delhi Riders posted 174/2 on the board, thanks to special knocks from Pragya Rawat (70*) and Simran Dil Bahadur (60*), which turned to be a massive chase for the Central Delhi Queens.

Opening the innings, Deeksha Sharma (86 off 51 deliveries) gave them a blistering start, but the rest of the batters collapsed like a pack of cards.

Batting at number six, the 20-year-old Bidhuri scored a boundary early on in the innings off Bharti Rawal, but the left-arm spinner got her stumped out by the keeper Pragya Rawat.

Rawal ended her day with two wickets, while Purva Siwach bagged a four-fer as East Delhi Riders won comfortably.

Medhavi Bidhuri’s signature 6-7 celebration hasn’t just caused a wave at home, but it has picked up even thousands of miles away in the County Championship 2026.

Featuring for Northamptonshire, Indian leggie Yuzvendra Chahal copied Bidhuri’s signature celebration after picking Marcus Harris’ wicket in the fourth innings of the Lancashire vs Northamptonshire.

Although Chahal picked up just three wickets in the match vs Lancashire, he was in stellar form in the England One Day Cup 2026, snapping 15 wickets in seven innings at an incredible economy of 4.57.

Just like Yuzi, Medhavi Bidhuri is also a leg-spinner with an effective wrong'un. However, the 20-year-old Delhi-based spinner has to put a lot of work into her bowling, especially the leg-spin, to get ready for the higher level.

Medhavi Bidhuri making waves in WDPL 2026

Medhavi Bidhuri has snared three wickets in two outings this season, but her side, the Central Delhi Queens, has yet to get off the mark on the WDPL 2026 Points Table

Ahead of the ongoing season, she switched her Women's Delhi Premier League side from South Delhi Superstarz to the Queens. Bidhuri may not have got enough chances with her former side, but she bowled an impeccable match-winning spell in the WDPL 2025 final.

Now with Central Delhi, the leg-spinner has grown in stature to become a core member of the WDPL team.
