Rishabh Pant is looking to take India towards a massive total in the ongoing Test match against Sri Lanka on Day 2 at Colombo (SSC).
Batting with a strapped left wrist, the Indian wicketkeeper has been asked some serious questions by the Sri Lankan bowlers, but Rishabh Pant has reverted with composure and determination.
Rishabh Pant replies Lahiru Kumara with roof-break six
On the opening day of the IND vs SL 2nd Test, Rishabh Pant had to walk off the field after Sri Lanka seamer Lahiru Kumara attacked with a short ball. However, the Indian starboy returned to the field after Saransh Jain's wicket.
As the 28-year-old came back to the field, he was welcomed with a barrage of short deliveries from the Sri Lankan seamers, especially Kumara, who just targeted him with the leg-stump line.

Pant replied to the Sri Lankan quick with a fantastic hook shot, which landed on the roof at Colombo (SSC) to break the solar panels of the stadium.

Although the attacking batter smoked a maximum off Kumara, the speedster continued testing the batter with his near-perfect plan.
Meanwhile, Pant didn’t have accurate replies as he faced blows on his left shoulder and the ribcage. And after his nerves were settled, the southpaw got his rhythm against the slower bowlers.

Nevertheless, Rishabh Pant had a moment for the history books as well. In the previous Test match, he became the first Indian to notch 100 Test sixes, and he went past Adam Gilchrist in the overall list to reach the third spot with 101 biggies.

As India are looking to post a mammoth total, Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel are batting marvellously in the morning session of the Day 2 at Colombo (SSC).
The keeper duo have already added a century partnership between them, and they have slammed their respective fifties.
Both the batters scored crucial fifties in the first Test match, but they will look to slam centuries to stamp their authority against the Sri Lankan bowlers.
Given the batting-friendly conditions, if either Pant or Jurel could go big, India could look to break their previous highest total of 707 all out in 2010.
