On Thursday, Harry Brook ran riot against Pakistan on Day 2 of the Headingley Test, as he blasted a marvellous 91 off 93 balls. As he continued his love affair with the Asian giants, his Test average against the opposition has skydived to 84.72 after 11 innings.

Although he missed out on his fifth Test hundred against Pakistan, Brook has the fourth-best Test average against Pakistan (after a minimum of 10 innings).

In this article, we will discuss, which batters have such records against India in Test cricket.

Although Harry Brook has remarkable numbers in Test cricket against Pakistan, slamming 932 runs in just 11 innings at an average of 84.72. There have been three more batters who have enjoyed even more success playing against them.

Players who have smashed India like Harry Brook has done against Pakistan

1. Everton Weekes - West Indies

Not Ricky Ponting, Brian Lara or Steve Smith, but a West Indies batter has the best Test average against India after playing a minimum of 10 innings. The legendary Sir Everton de Courcy Weekes tops the list, scoring 1495 runs against India in 15 innings, with a whopping average of 106.78.

Notably, he smacked seven centuries and four half-centuries, with a highest score of 207, during those many outings.

Weekes played two series against India, scoring 779 runs in his first series and 716 in the next one.

2. Andy Flower - Zimbabwe

The West Indies batter is followed by the Zimbabwean great Andy Flower, who averaged 94.83 vs India. The current RCB head coach played 18 innings against India, where he racked up 1138 runs, featuring three tons and seven fifties, with a best of 232*.

The Chevron legend always had a great time while playing India in the longest format. Although he played the subcontinent side on six different occasions, his best came during the 2000-01 series in India, where he smacked an unbeaten 232* at Vidarbha.

Notably, he smacked an unbeaten 183 at Delhi on the same tour, and two half-centuries in the rest of the innings.

3. Younis Khan - Pakistan

The third on the list is Pakistan's Younis Khan, who is also the only batter from his country with over 10K runs in the Test format. The middle-order giant was known for smashing quality bowling attacks with ease, but his best came against the arch-rivals, India.

Due to the geopolitical differences between the two countries, Younis played in just three Test series against India. Interestingly, he racked up over 500 runs in two of them, while he scored 260 runs in his third series, which included an unbeaten 107.

Against India, he registered 1321 runs in 17 innings, averaging 88.06, thanks to his five tons and four fifties.

4. Zaheer Abbas - Pakistan

There is another Pakistani batter on the list, apart from Younis Khan, and he is the very special Zaheer Abbas. Out of 5062 Test runs, 1740 came against India, which were 34.37% of his overall runs.

Unlike Younis, the senior statesman played five series against the neighbouring country. In his first series against them, Abbas went big and racked up 583 runs, including 235 not out. He had two more marvellous series against India.

In total, he hit six tons and three half-centuries against the opposition, with his average reading 87.00 vs India.

5. Garry Sobers - West Indies

The last man on the list is the greatest all-rounder of all time, Sir Garfield Sobers, who passed away earlier in July this year. The great man loved playing against the subcontinent teams, as evidenced by his average in the 80s against both India and Pakistan.

Sobers was involved in four different series against India. He first played them in 1958-1959 and last featured against them in 1970-71. Moreover, he did better against India than he did on previous occasions.

Overall, he scored a whopping 1920 Test runs in 30 innings against India, averaging 83.47. He tonked the Indian bowlers for eight centuries and seven half-centuries, with a best score of 198.
