In a significant development, Royal Challengers Bengaluru have dropped an official update on Phil Salt's injury. Notably, the Rajat Patidar-led side will lock horns against Delhi Capitals on April 27 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
For the unversed, Phil Salt, who has been RCB's key opener since IPL 2025, missed last match against Gujarat Titans' due to undisclosed injury. However, the management has official spoken about his availability.
Phil Salt Ruled Out Of Delhi Capitals Match
In the latest update, a report from Cricbuzz stated that RCB mentor Dinesh Karthik has confirmed that Phil Salt will miss RCB's upcoming clash against Delhi Capitals. It added that the right-handed batter is still recovering from his injury and the management don't want to rush Salt in playing XI.
In the last match, Jacob Bethell replaced Phil Salt, but the defending champions missed the explosive batter as Bethell failed to shine in Salt's absence.
Phil Salt Does Not Travel With RCB To Delhi
RCB are already in Delhi, preparing for the upcoming fixture. However, Salt has not travelled with the team and stayed back in Bengaluru. It is quite an interesting choice because RCB have no more home games left, which means that Phil Salt will travel seperately to join the team.
Interestingly, not just Phil Salt, but Virat Kohli has also not travelled with the team to Delhi. However, reports suggest that the RCB veteran will join the team later in the evening.

Will RCB Miss Phil Salt Against Delhi Capitals?
As mentioned above, it is big blow to RCB. The 2025 IPL winners will heavily miss Phil Salt because he has been in brilliant form this season. The right-handed batter has scored 202 runs in six innings, averaging 33.67.
More than the average, Phil Salt also has a strike-rate of 168.33, which has helped RCB get into a strong position in the match early on. On the other hand, Jacob Bethell, in his first match of IPL 2026, he scored 14 runs off 10 balls.
RCB Eyeing To Take Revenge vs Delhi Capitals
RCB have got off to a brilliant start in IPL 2026. The Rajat Patidar-led side are placed 2nd on the table with 10 points in 7 matches. The Challengers have lost just 2 matches so far in the tournament and one of them came against Delhi Capitals.
Interestingly, DC are the only side to beat RCB at their home this season and the defending champions are eyeing a revenge. In the last match, David Miller stole the show when he slammed 13 runs off the last over to seal a brilliant win for the Capitals.
Therefore, RCB would now look to beat DC at their home ground, which is the Arun Jaitely Stadium.
