Dewald Brevis Turns Saim Ayub (Source: Screengrab from JioStar)
Dewald Brevis is fondly known as Baby AB due to his batting style, which closely resembles that of RCB legend and his South African countryman AB de Villiers. However, it all turned out to be a disaster for the 22-year-old, as he fumbled to pull off his signature shot in a most humiliating way.
Brevis plays the no-look shot with ease, and there was another man who had that shot in his books. His name is Saim Ayub, who plays for Pakistan.
Unfortunately, Saim Ayub’s form is equally concerning, and therefore, Brevis’ wicket on Sunday afternoon reminded fans of Pakistan’s 23-year-old.
No Look Shot From Dewald Brevis Turns Into A Wicket
Brevis was in action at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium when Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were up against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match 37 of IPL 2026 on Sunday. After seeing Sanju Samson, Urvil Patel and impact sub Sarfaraz Khan return to the pavilion quickly, Dewald Brevis came to bat at No. 5.
Brevis failed to get going, scoring only two runs off his first eight deliveries. Hence, he decided to bring out his favourite no-look hit, only to see it fail.
It was GT’s left-arm spinner Manav Suthar whom Brevis picked to attack. Suthar bowled a tossed-up delivery to tease Dewald Brevis, who made his room to attempt a no-look six.
All he found was a huge top-edge, and GT captain Shubman Gill made no mistake to end his stay.

Dewald Brevis, Saim Ayub Having Form Concerns
Brevis missed out on IPL 2026’s initial fixtures due to side strain concerns. He came back, but did not find his usual rhythm. His scores read 29-ball 41, four-ball duck and a 11-ball 21 before the recent failure against GT.
Similarly, Saim Ayub has been going through a lot of problems these days, especially with the bat in hand. Playing for Hyderabad Kingsmen, he scored only 151 runs across 10 innings, at a strike rate of 121.77.
Ayub’s failures impacted the Hyderabad-based franchise a lot for their PSL playoffs qualification chances.
Not to forget, Ayub had a forgetful T20 World Cup 2026 for Pakistan, which played a significant role in not seeing themselves in the knockout stage of the competition.

CSK In Tatters Vs Gujarat Titans
Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans are all over the CSK in Chennai. While captain Ruturaj Gaikwad stayed at one end, the others failed like a pack of cards.
At the time of writing this, CSK are 96/5 in 15.3 overs. Finally, they recovered for a little while, courtesy of an expensive 21-run over from Rashid Khan. Shivam Dube is the latest man to depart after a 17-ball 22. Gaikwad, on the other hand, is on 48* off 48 balls, which had three fours and three sixes.
