The player draft of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2026 season took place on Monday, June 1. All five squads have now been finalised as teams prepare themselves for the upcoming sixth edition of the tournament.
It is worth noting that the LPL itself will be making its return to the cricketing calendar after a gap of two years. The LPL 2026 season is scheduled to commence from July 17 onwards next month, and will run up until August 8.
Following the conclusion of the player draft, here is a look at the squads of all five franchises of the LPL 2026 season.
Player Salary Caps and Categories
All teams must form a squad of 20 players. Heading into the auction, players were divided into different categories. Here is a list of all categories as well as the fees of the players under those groups.

LPL 2026 players category wise list
All five squads of the LPL 2026 season have now been finalised after the conclusion of the player draft on June 1. As mentioned above, players have been segregated in different categories, including Star, Icon, Gold, Platinum and Classic categories.

LPL 2026 schedule
The SLC unveiled the entire schedule of the LPL 2026 season last month. As per the itinerary, the tournament will launch from July 17 onwards, shortly after the opening ceremony.
As many as 24 matches will be played in the season, with the final set to be hosted by the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on August 8. Four venues across three different Sri Lankan cities will be hosting the tournament over the three-week period.
