Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das pulled out of the Lanka Premier League 2026 after sustaining a left calf/hamstring injury. The tournament (LPL 2026) is scheduled to begin on July 17, but Litton Das will remain in Dhaka for rehabilitation and will not feature in the much-awaited tournament.
It is important to mention that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) earlier gave him permission to participate in the competition.
However, his recovery did not progress as expected; as a result, his LPL 2026 franchise, Galle Gallants, has finally announced his replacement.

Litton Das' injury problems began during Bangladesh's home white-ball series against Australia and have continued to trouble him over the past several weeks.
June 14: During the third ODI against Australia, Litton experienced discomfort in his left leg while batting. He briefly left the field but later returned to complete his maiden ODI fifty (58 runs off 78 balls).
Late June: Medical examinations confirmed a Grade 1 strain in his left calf. He was ruled out of the T20I series against Australia as well as Bangladesh's one-off Test against Zimbabwe.
July 6: Although Litton Das travelled with the Bangladesh squad for the Zimbabwe tour, he was still not fully fit and remained unavailable for selection in the opening ODI.
July 8: The BCB also excluded him from the remaining ODI matches against Zimbabwe, with Parvez Hossain Emon brought into the squad.
July 14: With the injury still causing problems, Litton Das decided to withdraw from the LPL 2026 so he could focus entirely on rehabilitation in Dhaka.
Litton’s withdrawal has opened up a place in the Galle Gallants squad just days before the start of the tournament. According to reports from Bdcrictime, Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan Sohan is expected to replace him for the LPL 2026 season.
While the franchise has not officially announced the signing, Galle Gallants recently posted a teaser on their official Facebook page showing a blurred image of a player, suggesting that a replacement announcement is on the way.
The teaser has led many fans to believe that Nurul Hasan Sohan will soon be unveiled as the newest member of the squad.
Litton Das had been picked by Galle Gallants for a contract worth more than USD 60,000. Unfortunately, his ongoing injury has prevented him from taking part in the highly anticipated upcoming season.
