After the match, the ICC handed out a couple of huge awards to cricketers for their excellence throughout the month-long competition. It is worth noting that a certain Australian wicketkeeper-batter bagged the two huge honors, thus creating a huge world record in the process.

Here is a look at the major awards given to players after the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 final.

By bagging the two major post-T20 World Cup 2026 awards, legendary Australian wicketkeeper-batter Beth Mooney became the first cricketer in Women’s T20 World Cup history to win two ‘Player of the Match’ awards in the final.

Previously, Mooney won the ‘Player of the Match’ award in the 2023 final match against South Africa Women for scoring 74* in Cape Town.

She also became the first player in history to be crowned ‘Player of the Tournament’ in two separate T20 World Cup editions. She previously bagged the honor back in March 2020 in Australia for aggregating 259 runs in the competition.

Leading run-maker and leading wicket-taker of T20 World Cup 2026

Even though Beth Mooney won the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award, the legendary Australian wicketkeeper-batter is not the leading run-maker of the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

England top-order batter Danni Wyatt-Hodge achieved that honour for aggregating 302 runs in seven innings of the competition at a prolific average of 60.40. She also held an astonishing strike rate of 149.50, and punched out two fifties and a century.

Indian spinner Shree Charani, on the other hand, finished as the leading wicket-taker of the 2026 T20 World Cup, despite playing two lesser matches than the finalists of the tournament. The cricketer picked up 14 wickets in just five innings at an exceptional bowling average of 8.35.
