On Wednesday, May 20, Kolkata Knight Riders completed their revenge against Mumbai Indians and handed Hardik Pandya-led side a 4-wicket defeat. With the win, the three-time winners are still alive in the race for IPL 2026 playoffs.

Notably, it was a do-or-die match for the Ajinkya Rahane-led side, and they handed a comfortable defeat to Mumbai Indians. With the win, KKR now have 13 points in 13 matches and are placed 6th on the table.

The fans are now curious about Kolkata Knight Riders’ qualification scenario. Therefore, this article will shed light on KKR Qualification Scenario For IPL 2026 Playoffs After Win Vs MI.

How Can KKR Qualify For IPL 2026 playoffs?

The scenario is pretty simple now. Firstly, KKR need to win their last league stage match against Delhi Capitals on May 24, which is also the last match of IPL 2026 group-stage. If KKR win that game, then they will finish with 15 points.

Now, for the Ajinkya Rahane-led side to qualify, they want Punjab Kings to lose their last match against LSG on May 23 and Rajasthan Royals to lose against Mumbai Indians on May 24.

What Happens if PBKS Win Their Last Match?

In case Punjab Kings win their last group-stage match, they too will have 15 points. Now, it will boil down to net run-rate. Luckily for KKR, PBKS will play their last match before KKR will, so the Ajinkya Rahane-led side will know before the match the exact scenario for them to qualify for the playoffs.

Also, it must be noted that even in this case, the Rajasthan Royals must lose their last match.

What happens if the Rajasthan Royals Win Their Last Match?

In case Rajasthan Royals win their last IPL 2026 match, then it's all done and dusted for all teams, and the Riyan Parag-led side will qualify for the playoffs.
