The stage is set for a riveting IPL 2026 battle as the Gujarat Titans will collide with the Rajasthan Royals in the Qualifier 2 in Mullanpur. GT lost their Qualifier 1 match against RCB, but since they finished second, the side got another opportunity to have a shot at the grand finale.

On the other hand, the Rajasthan Royals crushed the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator, but they still have to face the Titans to reach the IPL 2026 finals. On paper, there is nothing to separate the two sides, but psychologically, things are different.

GT will be underconfident after the drubbing they suffered at the hands of RCB. Meanwhile, the Royals will be confident after what Vaibhav Sooryavanshi did to the SRH bowlers.

The two sides have collided twice in the IPL 2026, with both GT and RR winning a game each. This Quakifier 2 holds utmost importance as the losing side will crash out of the tournament. Ahead of the GT Vs RR IPL 2026 match, we take a look at the toss winner.

GT Vs RR IPL 2026 toss update

The Rajasthan Royals won the coin flip and team captain Riyan Parag was happy to bat first, which is RR's strength. Interestingly, the Royals are not tinkering with the lineup and has gone in with the same side that defeated SRH.

On the other hand, Shubman Gill also wanted to bat first, just like RR, batting first is the Gujarat Titans’ best option. They have made one key change, with Sai Kishore back in the playing XI to tackle the two left-handed RR openers.

Interestingly, the coin flip happened twice as the call from Riyan Parag wasn't loud enough for the match referee Prakash Bhatt.

GT Vs RR: What the captains had to say

Riyan Parag (Rajasthan Royals Captain): "We are going to bat first. Pretty much the same wicket. I just feel at the back end, it slows down a bit. We have the bowlers to exploit it.

[On today's knockout fixture] We have had those games for the last three games. Everyone wants the win. The messaging is simple. We have to play good cricket for 40 overs. Whichever team plays good cricket, wins.

[How has everyone recovered?] Everyone is hanging by a thread. I'm especially hanging by a thread. Everything is been done for the team. Now, it's game time. No matter who has injury or not, we have to give our best.

Shubman Gill (Gujarat Titans captain): " (What would they have done?) We would have batted first. 40 overs of play has already happened (on this pitch). I don't think it would change much. Unfortunately, I don't think the referee heard the call from Riyan.

(Mindset coming into this game) There is everything to play for. It is a 'now or never' situation.

(Team news) One change: Sai (Kishore) comes back."
