Mohammed Shami - (Source: IPL)
The LSG Vs KKR match was slowly moving towards a snoozefest before Mohammed Shami decided to turn the tide and make the contest exciting. LSG needed 156 to win the contest and do the double over KKR, but their batters faltered in the first 15 overs.
KKR bowlers tightened the screws on the scoring rate as LSG struggled for runs before Himmat Singh decided to take matters into his own hands. The middle-order batter, who came in as an impact player, made an instant impact as he smacked 19 off 10 balls, and took the game to the wire.
LSG Vs KKR match ends in tie, Super Over to decide winner
LSG needed 17 off the last over, and Kartik Tyagi failed to deliver the goods for his team with a couple of no-balls. In the last ball of the game, LSG needed 7 runs, and Mohammed Shami was on strike. One would have favoured the bowler to come through victorious, but that didn’t happen.

Tyagi bowled a half-volley as Shami cleared his front leg and swung hard as the ball went past the ropes, and the match ended in a tie. The LSG Vs KKR game will now be decided via a Super Over, and interestingly, this is the first such case in the tournament.

How KKR Vs LSG match unfolded
KKR were put into bat and on a Black Soil surface, the KKR batters struggled to put bat on ball. The team lost three wickets in quick succession as Tim Seifert, Ajinkya Rahane, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi, all departed cheaply.
Cameron Green, their most expensive signing, started the counter-attack, but he departed for a quickfire 34 off 21 balls. The franchise was struggling for runs, and this is when Rinku Singh came to life and the finisher, who has been struggling this season, scored an unbeaten 83 off 51 to help the Knight Riders post a decent total.
In reply, the LSG batters met with the same fate as they, too, crumbled under pressure at the top. The likes of Mitch Marsh, Aiden Markram, Rishabh Pant, and Nicholas Pooran tried their best, but the slowness of the surface hampered their game.
Himmat Singh, and Shami provided the late burst as the match ended in a tie.
KKR steal the win in Super Over
KKR struck a masterstroke as Sunil Narine was brought into the attack during the Super Over. LSG batted first, and their short innings turned out to be a disaster as Pooran, and Markram departed for ducks, and Pant scored a solitary run as the team scored just 1 run.
Interestingly, LSG registered the lowest score recorded in the IPL Super Over.
In reply, KKR sent in Rinku Singh and Rovman Powell as their two batters in the Super Over. The match ended inside a solitary delivery as Rinku Singh, the star of the game hammered Prince Yadav for a boundary to seal KKR's second win of the IPL 2026.
