The PSL vs IPL debate has been the topic of discussion among Indian and Pakistani fans for years now. While both tournaments share almost the same format and rules, the rivalry between the two countries has led to social media wars, and commentator Danny Morrison found himself in the middle of one of them.

In a recent social media scuffle with Danny Morrison and a Pakistan PSL fan, the former busted a fake rumour that the social media handle was trying to promote while degrading the IPL. Morrison took his stance to bust the bubble.

PSL vs IPL Debate Gets Popular Commentator Danny Morrison In Trouble

A social media handle named RayhamUnplugged on X shared an elaborate excerpt of Morrison speaking on the better quality and measures of the Pakistan Super League over the Indian tournament, as he experienced during his commentary stints.

"I’ve been part of both leagues. Last year I was in PSL; this year I’m here in the Indian Premier League for commentary. And honestly, even if it stings people, the quality of cricket in PSL feels much better to me,” the post read.

The post further shared that Morrison accused IPL of match fixing and the loss of the spirit of cricket in the game, all while the ex-cricketer is currently presenting in IPL 2026.

“Here in IPL, I keep hearing things that don’t feel right. There’s talk around the game, even about bookies trying to influence things, and that’s very concerning. I’ve also seen fans abusing players right from the dugout, and that just shouldn’t happen. Where is the spirit of cricket in all this?” the post read.

The social media post, as quoted by Morrison, praised Pakistan Super League in every aspect of the game, be it quality or crowd support.

“Over there in PSL, it’s completely different. The way foreign players are treated, the respect, the hospitality, it feels like your own people. You actually feel welcomed.

And I’ll be honest, even if it costs me my job, I’ll still say it: if I have to choose next year, I won’t come in IPL again. Because of this, this is not what cricket should feel like. You’re slowly ruining the game, and that’s the most disappointing part,” Morrison was quoted as saying on RayhamUnplugged's social media handle.

Danny Morrison Slams Fake Social Media Post

Taking to his own official X handle, Morrison slammed the ‘fake’ post made on April 1, 2026. Morrison replied under the story on April 2, reprimanding the claims and labelling the post fake and false. Morrison also requested the user to delete the post.

“Hey @RayhamUnplugged, really uncool to post this untrue & totally fake information using my name & profile!!! 🤬🤯 Do the right thing & delete it,” Morrison wrote.

Morrison’s Glorious Commentary Stints Over The Years

A renowned cricket commentator in his field, Danny Morrison, the former New Zealand cricketer, is known for his energetic and irreverent commentary style and characteristics.

He has been a regular voice in the IPL for over 18 seasons, which brought new life to the tournament with his English commentary.

The Sky Sports commentator has also hosted many other global T20 leagues like the Bangladesh Premier League, Caribbean Premier League, and the Abu Dhabi T10 League.

For the Pakistan Super League, too, Danny Morrison has been a regular presence since 2017. For the PSL 2026 season, he was again listed as a part of the star-studded panel for the current season. However, Morrison ditched the PSL this season to do his commentary stint for the IPL 2026 instead.
