India, Pakistan to share field again in cricket [Source: ALL]
The Asian Legends League (ALL) is all set to return for season 2, where retired and former international cricketers will be seen in action. Interestingly, India and Pakistan, the infamous arch-rivals, will also come face to face.
The inaugural season of Asian Legends League was held in 2025, where Indian Royals lost to Asian Stars in the finale. Seeing a positive response from the fans, the officials decided to renew the tournament for a second season, which will go on the floors later this month.
India to compete against Pakistan in Asian Legends League
The second season of Asian Legends League will begin on July 30 in Lusaka, Zambia. Six teams, Indian Royals, Asian Stars, Sri Lankan Lions, Bangladesh Tigers, Afghanistan Pathans, and Pakistan Panthers, will compete in 15 league fixtures.
The tournament will have a knockout format similar to the IPL, which includes Qualifier 1, Eliminator and Qualifier 2 games before the ultimate finale, which is scheduled on August 10.
Interestingly, in ALL, India and Pakistan will again come face to face with each other in competitive cricket. The diplomatic tensions between the arch-rivals have been at an all-time high after the Asia Cup 2025 controversy where players refused to shake hands, and later PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi stole the trophy.
Since then, India and Pakistan have not met eye to eye. In the Legends League tournament, which is similar to the Asian Legends League, the Indian team, featuring Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh and Irfan Pathan, pulled out from their fixture against Pakistan.
However, it's still unclear what India’s stand will be in ALL. For now, India and Pakistan are set to clash on Sunday, August 2.

Yusuf Pathan to lead India Royals
Having said that, the Indian Royals squad will feature many popular names that once served Indian cricket at the highest level. World Cup winner Yusuf Pathan will lead the side, whereas Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina will grace the tournament with their presence.
Dinesh Karthik is also listed in the squad as wicketkeeper alongside Naman Ojha. In bowling, Harbhajan Singh and Shahbaz Nadeem are some notable names.
Interestingly, players like Harbhajan, Pathan and Raina took a strong stand against Pakistan in Legends League. But whether they again refuse to share the field with Pakistan in Asian Legends League is still uncertain.
Who all are representing Pakistan?
As for the Pakistan Panthers side, Mohammad Hafeez has been named captain. Umar Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal and Sharjeel Imam are included in the squad.
And in the bowling, Sohail Tanvir, Yasir Shah, Saeed Ajmal and Wahab Riaz will carry the proceedings. Overall, the Pakistan side also looks strong on paper.
If all things pan out as per schedule, it’s quite clear that fans will be keen to watch the India-Pakistan rivalry revive again between former cricketers.
